" I am a non-judgmental, open-minded therapist who believes that each client is an individual who deserves respect and unconditional regard for their life experiences. I engage in utilization of client centered therapy that allows the client to direct and feel more involved in the therapeutic process. This allows me to connect with the client and, together, develop a treatment plan that will help them to foster the skills that they feel they need to achieve the goals that they have set forth."
"I have worked, successfully, with individuals who are dealing with trauma and the anxiety that so often accompanies such trauma. I have found that utilizing CBT techniques such as journaling and challenging cognitive distortions, clients are better able to address the negative thought patterns that cause a perceptual bias that can be debilitating."

Lorey Simons has helped me progress immensely in my short time with her. Live sessions with her are fantastic and Lorey takes such a patient-driven approach to counseling; letting you guide the conversation but always knowing what to say and when to say it to help you along. Very comfortable sessions that makes it easier to be open.

Although I didn’t have many sessions with Mrs. Simmons I didn’t think she was the right therapist for me. I don’t think she truly understood my struggles, and the many techniques we tried seemed very unhelpful.

I tried therapy for the first time a little over a year ago and just felt like I wasn’t connecting fully with my therapist. I thought maybe I needed to give it more time, but even after a break through moment, it just wasn’t there. I felt discouraged and stopped because I was nervous to start all over again. I’ve only had two sessions so far with Lorey and I’m so glad I switched! I like that BetterHelp matches you with someone. I can tell Lorey has more experience in what I needed and look forward to working with her to get back on track.
