About me

I am an Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 5 years of experience working as a psychotherapist, and over 10 years of experience working in the Behavioral Health field. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including PTSD, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges and phase of life concerns. I have also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.

I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. A wise clinician once taught me that "We are more than our diagnosis", and I firmly believe in this. Just because of someone has a condition, does not mean that this is what should define them. I utilize a different amount of techniques to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), along with other approaches that I utilize based on the needs of my clients. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Luis Lozoya. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Luis is a great therapist and I couldn’t recommend him enough. He has helped me to understand the relationship I have with myself and how I interact with others. He has animated me to reflect my actions and face my fears with kindness and a sense of humor. The focus he has set on childhood experiences was much appreciated to help me understand my behavior in certain situations. Every session felt very natural as you would talk with somebody you know for a long while.

Luis has great skill in translating what I’m saying with great analogies and sayings that lets me know he gets me. At the same time he gently opens me up to more exploration. Luis is very sensitive and aware of my environment and does so well in relating to me in ways that I can understand. He has a great sense of humour and most of all a generous loving and caring heart. I enjoy working with him very much.
