About me

I am a licensed clinical social worker/licensed psychotherapist with 31 years of experience. During the course of my career I have worked to help individuals clients address issues that are standing in the way of them becoming a better version of themselves. I am licensed in the states of Florida and North Carolina. My experience as a psychotherapist has been with people of all ages, a broad range of issues and diverse cultural, ethnic, sexual orientation and spiritual backgrounds. My areas of focus are: helping the individual manage their response to stress in a healthier manner so the stress does not manage the individual, providing education and skills to cope more effectively with anxiety and/or depression, dealing with addictive behaviors, relationship issues, increasing personal empowerment over the consequences of trauma and abuse, developing an understanding of the impact of early life experiences on personal development and impact in present day situations, and improving self esteem/self confidence and self worth.

The principles that guide my work as a psychotherapist are as follow:
1) Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, dignity and compassion.
2) Seeking therapy is one of he most courageous, empowering, and healing choices one can make.
3) Helping the individual to understand, heal, and overcome negative life experiences from the past,
4) It is the therapist's responsibility to earn the individual's trust during the course of the therapeutic relationship.
5) Mutual respect and collaboration between the therapist and the individual seeking therapy make it possible for positive change to happen.
6) When it comes to the therapy approach, "One size does not fit all." There is no one specific approach that is effective for everyone. Therapy is tailored to meet each person's unique style to enhance the likelihood of positive results.

Congratulations on taking this very brave and important first step on the road to a better you!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Maritza Ejenbaum. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Doctor Maritza allows and creates a safe space for emotional vulnerability. I am for the first time undertaking and saying out laud and dealing with my abuse. Dr Martiza has helped me identify how simple things like thoughtless laughter can be a double sided cook given a situation, and learning how I am denying myself to openly feel. I am undertaking the journey to protect myself and I am so thankful for having Dr.Maritza suggestions and tools to continue to progress and build on this journey. You are not alone, you are enough, you are worthy. May you be well in your journey.

Maritza Ejenbaum is the most intuitive, knowledgable, to the point therapist I've ever worked with. She sees through the "stuff" faster than any other professional I've worked with to date. She has helped me through a very difficult time and I'm ever grateful for her guidance and ear. When the feelings are so raw that you don't know what to do with them she is there to listen and respond with kindness, compassion, and healing tools. I'm so grateful for this platform and Maritza.

Her expertise is finely refined and quickly gets to root causes of some issues. I value her expertise tremendously. She is a gem! I highly recommend her to anyone who wants a sound partner to achieve your goals.

Maritza was helpful in the ways I needed for the time I needed it - she would get right down to it to make the best use of our time and listened with compassion and offered insight from both her professional knowledge as well as personal experience.
