I am a Licensed Professional Counselor(LPC) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Louisiana. I have worked in social services for over 25 years in various capacities--as a direct care worker in a group home for developmentally-disabled adults, as a staff worker at a homeless shelter for teens, as a licensed counselor in a crisis counseling program in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and as a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) working with children, teens, and adults who receive Medicaid. The clients I have helped have struggled with depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, Panic Disorder, and Bipolar Disorder.
I see counseling as a way to help someone express feelings and thoughts in a safe environment, possibly for the first time. My approach combines Rogerian, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Motivational Enhancement.
Counseling/therapy is a challenging endeavor and an adventure. I find those who stick with it come out more mature and more whole.

Mark has helped me over the last few months work through some very difficult issues. He is a great listener, offers great advice and has a great gauge on how to have you share without going over your limits! I look forward to our weekly sessions.
Mark has been excellent. He has a great soothing style and obviously knows what he is doing. He asked some great questions and helped a lot.
I've made some progress so far with Mark. He listens very well, and is respecting. I've only had a few session but what I have had has been very rewarding.
Mark is the best therapist I've had. No one has ever made me feel so validated and understood. He has this innate gift of reading my mind. His method helps me to figure things out for myself; he guides me to the answers, as opposed to spoon feeding me solutions.
Mark has been really understanding and kind. He carefully listens to you, even if you're venting and I think that in itself allows us to feel like someone really understands what we are going through.
Very easy to talk to ! Listens well , picks up on a lot of things that I didn't even realize were things that were upsetting me or affecting my life .
I feel Mark is a friend who listens and I dont need to package my feelings. He understands how I feel and thats the best part.
Mark has really taken the time to listen and address my concerns and help me work through my emotions
Mark really is a good active listener and took the time to ask good questions that led to a helpful session. Would recommend Mark to anyone looking for a counselor here.

Mark Haas is by far the most remarkable therapist I’ve been fortunate enough to find. And Betterhelp provided me with his expertise. He opened my mind and view to things that I simply couldn’t have done without him. I highly suggest him. Easy to share your most darkest and vulnerable feelings with. He always checked on me. And always made time for me. Very understandable and made me feel valid. He reached out at later hours as well. And that’s hard to find! I will miss him dearly. Ask for me before he’s all booked up! You will be feeling like a million bucks with his help with WHATEVER you are struggling with.
