Hello, my name is Mark and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia. I have been working in mental health for twenty years. I have raised five children and have a lot of life experience in addition to my professional training. My Bachelor's Degree is in Religious Studies and my Master's Degree is in Community Mental Health Counseling. I have two years of training in Christian Counseling where I was certified through my church.
My counseling approach is one of collaboration. We will work as a team and put our minds together to find solutions. Once the problem is identified we can come up with a set of steps with small goals along the way to achieve. When you achieve a goal we will make a new one to get you another step closer to your end goal and a successful/desired outcome. As part of the work we do I will likely assign homework to complete between sessions and sometimes I will challenge you with a therapeutic task. Part of your job in our work together is to be as open and honest with me as you can. If you are having a bad day I want to know about it. My role as a therapist is to listen to you in a non-judgmental way, provide unconditional support, and be genuine and authentic at all times. Together we will create a plan to tackle problems one by one. We will prioritize what is most urgent and start there. I believe people can/will get better when they work at it regardless of the challenge they face. I use elements from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Adlerian Psychology primarily when helping in addition to Spiritual Therapy for my Christian clients that request it. I am a natural encourager and believe in my client’s ability to improve.
Years of experience working with all age groups, in varied settings and diverse populations providing therapy for clients with severe and persistent mental illness and substance use disorders has prepared me to help if given the chance.
I look forward to working with you!

He is the perfect balance of extremely well versed clinical psychologist, and man of God, offering the best of both worlds, because I had previously expressed that as my need for that rare hybrid for total healing.
He welcomed all of the preliminary paperwork that I sent his way (even though it was mere hours before our first sesión, and has been super helpful, providing several helpful psychological/spiritual tools that have helped me grow, after only 2 sessions!.
My membership will continue, thanks to this Godsend of a counselor, Mark Mazzoni.

Mark is a great counselor who gave me encouragement that helped me through extremely tough and dark times. He listens well and provides objective feedback, while being gentle and supportive at the same time. I open up more each time we meet and it's helped me tremendously. I recommend him many times over.

Mark is the best. He's like a friend who cares about you and listens without judgment and points out alternatives. It works for my personality type at least. He's helped me get back on my feet twice now. Recommended!
