My name is Mary Lou. I am a licensed professional counselor in Pennsylvania. I have an MS in Clinical Counseling and I am in the process of finishing my dissertation in the Ph.D. Program in Counseling Education and Spiritual Integration. I am a seasoned professional who has worked in the field of Mental Health and Addiction for over 25 years (code for I am not a kid). My Work has taught me; we, all have a “Purpose” to fill and gifts to share. Life has taught me, we must focus on what is right in front of us first recognizing what that Purpose is.
I communicate with my clients online or by phone in the early afternoon or evening's I check my emails throughout the day. Please feel free to know that what you say to me stays with me. If you are new to therapy or have been in therapy before and have, questions please feel free to ask me about my work. I am psychodynamic in my approach, which means I utilize the teachings of various theorists to address various issues in our counseling sessions. I am eclectic but Ellis in orientation with a focus on emotional responses and behavior patterns as well as Trauma and irrational thinking. I will provide you the support and encouragement you need to address these problems and resolve them. Can you tell me a little more about yourself and your situation? The more I know the better. Do not hesitate to write as much and as often as you like. The more you share the less burdened you will feel. This will help me provide you with the advice and tools you need to address your problems. I can respond to you within 24 hours. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I can confidently say I have been in therapy for one year! And I look back on the person I was in the beginning, and I’ve come a long way. I never thought I would be able to say that. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the support and advice from Mary. I always look forward to talking to her every week! She’s one of the best therapists and I trust her fully with her expertise. I always ask her how I can improve certain things that come up in situations, and she always has great advice to give. I don’t plan on stopping therapy, it’s always good to have an outside perspective. Thank you so much, Mary, for your help! I will continue to speak with you weekly.

Mary does her best to remember details, and she seems to give her best effort to keep things rolling and being available even when her own situation is crappy.

Sometimes she uses her experience to convey her perceived knowledge, which is a better working knowledge of life rather than always book knowledge - even though she definitely has the book credentials for most areas of her expertises.

Very kind. Very generous, Very helpful.
