Navigating burnout, career pivots, financial stress, or a painful breakup can feel overwhelming. You might be wrestling with trauma, OCD, depression, or the heavy toll of toxic family dynamics. Whatever brings you here, I want you to know that I believe deeply in your capacity to heal and thrive.
About Me & My Approach
I am a licensed therapist accredited by the National Counselling Society, with seven years of professional practice and over three decades of lived personal growth experience.
In our sessions, we will look beneath the surface of your struggles. Using a warm, person-centered approach, I will help you understand the emotional triggers and patterns rooted in your past. I blend deep empathy with practical guidance — incorporating gentle inner child work, meditation, and grounding techniques that you can actually use in your day-to-day life to feel more centered and resilient.
A Global Perspective on Healing
My approach to therapy is deeply informed by my multicultural background. I spent my first nine years integrated into a beautiful Muslim family in Northern Nigeria, later attending a Catholic boarding school in the UK. I spent time in Kenya and the Congo where my father worked, alongside family ties in the Netherlands and France. This global upbringing gave me a profound understanding of how culture, spirituality, and identity intersect to shape who we are.
Today, I continue to embrace community and diverse perspectives by building a sustainable lodge and tour center in rural Gambia, where I am learning the local Wolof language.
Creativity as Therapy
As a Kora musician and a craftsperson who teaches bookbinding, I have seen how creativity unlocks doors that words sometimes cannot. If it resonates with you, we can weave music, art, and creative expression into our work as powerful tools for self-discovery.
Qualifications & Next Steps
I hold a Diploma in Emotional Therapeutic Counselling, with specialized training in suicide and self-harm support. I am fully insured and engage in regular clinical supervision to ensure you receive the best possible care.
If you are looking for a therapeutic space that is professionally grounded, culturally aware, and creatively inspired, I would be honored to support you. Your journey is unique — let's take the next step together.

I've had 3 sessions with Marysa and it's been a game changer for me. She listens, understands my concerns, and doesn't just give me a positive outlook but also shows me different perspectives. I was hesitant about therapy with someone not from my background and culture, but it didn't matter at all. Overall, I would highly recommend her.

Marysa has been the best therapist I’ve ever had in my life. She’s experienced, unbiased, and caring. When I talk with her, I get the sense that she really understands who I am, what I’ve been through, and she’s able to recommend tips and resources to help me make the next step every time. She often checks up on me to see how I am doing, and that alone has been an absolute blessing. If you’re looking for someone compassionate, practical, and professional, Marysa is definitely the way to go! Thank you!
