Maya is so kind, supportive, and encouraging. She doesn't make me feel judged at all. I have a lot to get off my chest and to unpack, and she reads and responds to everything! I really appreciate her patience and thoughtfulness. As someone with a fear of rejection and a fear of being a burden, she gives me comfort that I am heard and cared about. I really think she's amazing at what she does!

Maya listens, has great insight and understands my issues quickly. She allows me to 'rant' if I need to share a story that has deeply bothered me. I don't feel rushed, I feel I'm being shown the right direction based on my needs. I also feel empowered, I don't wallow in depression, I just know that the pain of certain issues in my life is mine to choose to move away from and put in the past. Maya is giving me the tools to do that. Thanks Maya.

So far, despite some organizational issues on my end, Maya has been very helpful for me. In just the short time we've talked, she's already helped show me new stuff that I can use when my mental health declines, as well as helped challenge my way of thinking so that I could be more open.

Maya is great at getting to the core of issues. She listens and suggests helpful ideas for resolving or coping with the issue.

Maya has been awesome - she clearly has a lot of experience in dealing with family issues and she was always willing to share her own experience, which I found very helpful and relatable. She has always been responsive and respectful and super honest - and let me be very honest and I have never felt scared or ashamed to tell her what I was thinking or feeling, even if it was controversial.

Maya has been great to work with. I experienced a major life change recently and Maya has played a huge roll in my ability to adapt, cope, build and reach goals. I would highly recommend Maya to anyone in a dark place, in need of tools to help cope and lead a happy life. Maya, thank you so much for what you do!

Maya tries her hardest to make sure you are comfortable with the counseling experience but also that you are getting the help you need. It is just the beginning of my time working with her but she has already been very helpful.

My experience with Maya Neal has been a positive one. She has responded to all my emails in a timely manner and has good insight into issues and situations I have discussed with her. While some reviews regarding online counseling stated that the answers could seem canned I have not found that with Maya. Her interactions with me have been personalized and constructive.

The online format is a good one for me as it offers flexibility that scheduled, in person counseling cannot offer. I can respond to an email later once I've had a chance to absorb what I read and think about how I truly feel about it. Sometimes are first reactions to questions or statements are off the cuff or defensive. This format allows me to work through that before responding.

Once Maya was assigned to me she responded almost immediatly. I found her to be very comfortable to talk with and she asked the right questions to help me understand emotions I am dealing with right now. She also had specific suggestions for setting goals for myself and taking steps toward acheiving those goals. Having the option of trying counseling using an online format at first was good for me because it was a first step that I probably would not have taken if I had to randomly locate someone in a big city on my own.

Written by J.E on Apr 17, 2015 after counseling with Maya for 3 weeks on issues concerning grief

Maya has been very helpful and quite understanding. I felt a connection to her right away and felt comfortable talking to her. Even though our correspondence has been strictly online it has been easy and comfortable.

Maya was all she was cracked up to be (ha, see what I did there, therapy humor) and more. If you want someone who listens, understands what you're saying, and responds thoroughly, you're on the right track choosing her. Even better, if you want someone who also gets your weird sense of humor, that's her, too.
