My experience with Maya Neal has been a positive one. She has responded to all my emails in a timely manner and has good insight into issues and situations I have discussed with her. While some reviews regarding online counseling stated that the answers could seem canned I have not found that with Maya. Her interactions with me have been personalized and constructive.
The online format is a good one for me as it offers flexibility that scheduled, in person counseling cannot offer. I can respond to an email later once I've had a chance to absorb what I read and think about how I truly feel about it. Sometimes are first reactions to questions or statements are off the cuff or defensive. This format allows me to work through that before responding.
Once Maya was assigned to me she responded almost immediatly. I found her to be very comfortable to talk with and she asked the right questions to help me understand emotions I am dealing with right now. She also had specific suggestions for setting goals for myself and taking steps toward acheiving those goals. Having the option of trying counseling using an online format at first was good for me because it was a first step that I probably would not have taken if I had to randomly locate someone in a big city on my own.
Maya has been very helpful and quite understanding. I felt a connection to her right away and felt comfortable talking to her. Even though our correspondence has been strictly online it has been easy and comfortable.

If you want someone who listens, understands what you're saying, and responds thoroughly, you're on the right track choosing her.
