About Me

Life is tough!!! Sometimes it feels that it won't get any easier or it won't get better.

And I get it!!!

Hello my name is Melissa, and I am a licensed professional counselor with over 8 years of mental health treatment and consultation experience. I use a variety of therapy models (the logical, direct kind - or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; the eclectic person centered model, or the motivating behavior and change through Motivational Interviewing), and I always use my client's interests and personality as the best guide for the approach.

That doesn't mean I follow a book, or manual!! Actually, I would say that my therapeutic approach will be dictated by what my client needs. I am here to help you on your journey towards becoming the better you, or a "you" that you want!! I am not going to tell you what you should do, but we can talk about what you did do ; ) .

I am a very open minded therapist, and I seek to provide culturally diverse therapy to a variety of individuals, and their lifestyles. I hope you will allow me to begin this journey with you!! I look forward to meeting you "where you are at"!!

I LOVE Melissa! I've been to at least half a dozen therapists over the years that basically didn't click. Melissa is the first person to click with me. She's super cool and is fun to engage in conversation with. I look forward to our sessions because it feels like we're just talking, not jumping into something super clinical sounding or painful. She's super easy to talk to.

Melissa is a delight to work with! She was kind and sweet from the get-go, but she is also great at pushing me when I need it. I really appreciate how present and accessible she makes herself.

Melissa is a fantastic counselor. She understands my concerns and provides the validation I need and best respond to, while also giving me productive exercises that help me work through my anxiety. In addition, she checks in with me frequently, even when I forget to reach out - proof of how supportive and caring she is! I would recommend both her and BetterHelp to anyone!!

She has been quite amazing and super helpful with everything. Whatever I am dealing with or issues that arise, she responds in a timely manner with exercises and advice on how to overcome and really deal with what I’m dealing with. Again, truly amazing!

Melissa is incredibly approachable. She’s helped me decipher my own thoughts by asking very good questions for clarification. Letting me know what she needed more information on and what clicked right away, so I don’t have to repeat myself, just dive further into certain aspects.
We’ve been able to connect on a level I wasn’t sure was possible from utilizing only the text based part of the service. Couldn’t be more pleased with the direction we’re headed in.
