About me

I am fully qualified to work with individuals suffering from a variety of mental health issues. I have personally witnessed so many hardships with past clients as well as members of my own family. As such, the ideal client should come to me with the expectation that they will be heard and understood and never made to feel judged, pathologized, or humiliated. In my experience, the service that clients need most is to have a completely safe space to talk about painful thoughts and feelings because sometimes even the people closest to them cannot provide that. Creating that space is my specialty. I officially just became a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and I had received my Masters in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. Above all, I prioritize the skills of active listening, curiosity, tracking, reflecting, and challenging my clients with open-ended questions in order to help them recognize the deepest reasons for their presenting problems. I also use mindfulness and cognitive-behavior therapy to demonstrate the connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I look forward to helping you begin your personal journey of healing and self-discovery!

I feel incredibly comfortable talking with Michael. He has truly created a safe space for me to explore all issues coming up. I am very grateful to have connected with him - he provides super valuable insight and I always feel he genuinely cares, which has been difficult for me to find with previous therapists. Thank you Michael for your support and wisdom!
