About me

I am a Ph.D. level therapist. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Georgia and New York. I have 30 years of experience in the field of social work, human services, and counseling. I am a Certified Anger Management Specialist (CAMS-II). My therapeutic approach involves “meeting the person where they are.” I am committed to helping clients understand their life challenges and assisting them in working toward reducing or resolving the internal or external challenges. I believe treatment is successful when clients actively develop their treatment goals.

I have worked with a range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress issues, relationship issues, parent-child conflict/parenting problems, and trauma. I provide services using a holistic approach throughout the entire treatment process. All treatment modalities address the mind, body, and spirit. My integrative treatment philosophy considers the client’s biological, psychological, emotional, spiritual, and social needs.

I look forward to meeting you to discuss your “journey.”

Dr. Balthrope is a very practical and patient therapist, I was very comfortable to talk to her about my anxiety, family related issues, self-esteem problems and thanks to her I made a lot of progress. After the first few sessions I knew that she's gonna be perfect, because I felt the her trust in me, how energetic she is and how much joy she gets from helping others. She helped me through switching jobs, getting my diploma while dealing with weakened relationships in the family, divorced parents. She gave me lots of practical advice that I can use in my life long after the end of our sessions.

Dr. Balthorpe is super professional and supports my needs very well. During our sessions, she supports me with her wisdom and I find that I spend time the following days thinking about our sessions and how I can implement the variety of things I take away from the experience. As a result, I’m able to relate better with family members and be a better mom while also finding ways to balance my needs and self-care. Highly recommend!
