About Me

I am an Arizona Licensed Professional Counselor, as well as a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor since 2001. I also hold the National Counseling Certification from the National Board of Certified Counselors. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, stress and anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, and career challenges. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and rational-emotive counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

Monika is probably the best counselor I've ever had. She not only listens to my every concern but she describes some of her own personal experience in it making it a more personal session. instead of feeling like another client/patient she makes you feel like a friend or family. Monika is the best counselor I've ever worked with. She's holds me accountable without being harsh. She has helped me in countless ways and I can easily pinpoint in my daily life places where I used her advice and teachings. She sends very helpful worksheets, videos, and articles, and will send messages throughout the week letting me know she's there if I need her. I feel incredibly supported by her, and I trust that she is listening and has my best interest at heart. I had to switch counselors when I moved to another state, and it was incredibly sad to do so, otherwise I'd still be working with her!

Monika is phenomenal! After months of feeling like I had no one to turn to and as if my issues didn’t matter, Monika immediately stepped in and asked me what I wanted to work on and gave me methods. Within days I had my first video appointment with her; whereas, with my original provider I had been seen twice in three months. I get as often as I desire, which is weekly for me, and I’m able to set up the appointments to where they fit my schedule. If I’m having a stressful/not good day, I can simply send a message to Monika and she gives me tips and methods to help me get through the day. I love having a counselor I can rely on!
