My intention as a Counselor is to be present and compassionate with someone who is courageous enough to choose to change their life for the better. I can assist you to feel more in control, have increased self-understanding and insight, and realize that looking at the challenge directly is much easier than avoiding it. This can give you the opportunity to be able to tell the truth and feel heard and understood. This will lead to feeling more hopeful, and optimistic that things can change. I am a great coach and counselor for that.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who has practiced in Colorado and Hawaii for 28 years. I have worked with all ages , diagnoses, and concerns, and my specialties are in trauma resolution, stress, depression, and anxiety. People feel safe with me and find it easy to open up and receive support. I have a calming presence and can give you tools to apply that can immediately make a difference with the symptoms you may be experiencing. It gives me joy to assist someone to feel more empowered and more in charge of their life. Being able to find your inner guidance and know what you really feel and want and get help to achieve that is a game changer. I believe every session provides the possibility of a breakthrough even when confronting painful issues. I always try to end on a positive note, with ideas of how to move forward. I can consult on many topics of concern, including medical, psychiatric, alternative healthcare, and self care as I am also an RN. My passion is in studying healing, and love Neuroscience and the latest brain research and what really is important to heal our moods and to self regulate. I am an EMDR trained therapist and use EFT as well. I am qualified to teach mindfulness, meditation, and can draw on Spiritual traditions that are such a resource in healing. I would be honored to talk to you about what concerns you.

Being paired with Nance has been incredibly life giving. She is truly gifted in showing empathy and understanding through her words, but also extends honesty through our sessions which I deeply appreciate. Nance also is very knowledgeable in the science behind the way our bodies respond to trauma, and helps with regulation of those emotions encouraging true healing within. I have made incredible progress in just a few short months and look forward to our sessions every week. I can't thank her enough!

I have had about 3 or 4 sessions with Nance and I am very happy to have met her. She is clearly very skilled and compassionate and she takes initiative in the session to help guide discussion - something I could not find with other online therapy formats. It is not a problem, whatsoever doing tele-therapy via video when the therapist is skilled enough to guide therapy. I am very satisfied with Better Help and Nance, thus far.

Nance is a very positive and helpful therapist. She helps identify issues and change thinking patterns. I don’t feel judgment even when talking about my weakest moments. She helps in a variety of ways and has experience in a wide variety of disciplines. She’s kind, listens, remembers, and is focused on whatever I’d like to talk about! Strongly recommend Nance.

I've been seeing Nance for a while now and I can confidently say my life is better with her support. I now look forward to my sessions, where I used to dread them because I knew I had to be honest with her. I've seen so much improvement in my life, self confidence and purpose. Its become so clear to me this should be the standard for every human born into this world, having a neutral place to work through things, feel supported and gain useful advice for dealing with the trauma of living in current times. The work you'll do is so worth it!

Nancy has done so much to help me, even in a short time. She was the perfect sounding board to unload burdens I didn’t even know I was carrying. I struggled for more than a decade with binge eating, and the understanding and help she has given me has allowed me to gain a solid footing in recovery that nothing else has. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone else.

Nancy is a great counselor! She can easily read your needs during the session, which makes it comfortable to open up. She has helped me stay focused on my initial goals, which can be hard for me since I am scatter brained at times. I've come to a realization that has completely changed the way I think and carry myself. She was fundamental in guiding me towards that realization. Since I starting working with her I feel lighter and more optimistic!

Nancy has been a godsend for me!!! I really needed someone who understood past trauma and how to move forward out of the consequences of it. Nance is not only kind but is so intuitive in her approach to counseling. She really hears what I say and has so many ways to help me understand and calm myself from what is going on inside of me. We have touched on some very hard things but I feel optimistic fir the first time in a long time. Her approach allows us each week to address what is the most pressing... no agenda except for where I need to go that day. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing to get out of living in their past trauma and moving into a hopeful beautiful future!

I consider myself to be extremely fortunate to have been matched up with Nance. She is a wonderful person that meets me with great energy, and genuine care and concern. She listens very well, and then engages with me an a sincere way. She asks me many questions to gain insight and perspective. While she is very empathetic, she is not afraid to challenge me and ask the difficult questions that I need to face in order to see real change. I could not be happier with Nance and I look forward to our sessions together.
Written on Jan 29, 2021 after therapy with Nance (Nancy) for 4 months on issues concerning stress, anxiety, relationship issues, and anger management
Nance was very supportive of my goals and needs. She allowed me to focus on topics that were most important to me, while also following up on topics we had discussed in previous sessions. I am scatter brained and my stories are all over the map, but she did an excellent job of following along, or asking questions when she was unfamiliar with something/someone I brought up in our sessions. She always checked in with me on how I'm treating myself, how much time I'm giving myself for hobbies, and taught me how to check in with my body. I've learned to take feelings such as anger or sadness and assess how those things feel in my physical body, allowing a new approach to healing I've never really thought about. It helps me to stop, think, breathe, notice, and accept. I adore Nance and will request her if I return to BetterHelp.
