Hello, I am Dr. Nawal Aboulhosn. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMHC), a Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMHC), a certified Addiction Professional (CAP), and a Certified Clinical Sexual Offender treatment Specialist (CCSOTS). I have completed the Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior therapy (TF-CBT) trainings. I hold a doctorate with emphasis on family and marriage Counseling. I have over seventeen years of experience as a therapist, in both the Community Mental Health model and in Private Practice. My experience includes working with individuals, couples and families.
My therapeutic approach is strength based with eclectic therapeutic techniques that conform to the individualized needs of my clients. I have extensive trainings in trauma, grief, narrative therapy, and cognitive behavior therapy.
I am an avid believer in holistic approach to mental health therapy: mind, body, emotional and social factors. I am heavily involved in continued research of the different trends of therapy.
I love traveling, gardening, and running. I appreciate knowing and learning about the different cultures. I love animals and I consider them an essential therapeutic relief.

I joined BetterHelp in August 2020 and was matched with Dr Aboulhosn almost immediately. Dr A has been very wonderful and she was very gentle with me as we worked together to resolve the issues I was having. She listened to me and gave me guidance to raise my self-esteem and take charge of my life. She has also taught me how to set boundaries and followed up with me on the goals I set together with her every session. The worksheets given to me to complete also opened my mind as we went through my entries and I have a more positive perspective of life now as compared to before. My relationship with my family and my husband has also improved greatly after I followed Dr A's advice.
I am very glad that I took the step to join BetterHelp, otherwise I would not have met Dr A. After almost 2 years, I feel ready to step out into the world on my own again but I will not hesitate to seek out Dr A if I ever need her again in the future. I started my therapy sessions with Dr.Nawal Aboulhosn about 5 months ago. Looking back into those 5 months, I feel it's the best decision I've made. The best of what Dr.Nawal had helped me achieve, was developing my ability in decision-making & in the most critical decisions in my life. She had helped me dig deep into what I really want in life, and follow my passion in this life.
In those past months in therapy, & with Dr.Nawal's knowledge, expertise, values, great listening skills, openness to cultures, & most importantly, her care & genuine interest in helping me, I've finally managed to reach the state of peace & love that I've always wanted to reach.

I would like to say that after around two months of therapy with dr. Nawal i started to find my inner peace that i've lost 15 years ago because of anexiety & depression. And even thogh i took alot of pills in the past, but i found that therapy is the real cure.
The changes that i'm experiancing today is dramatic & drastic.
What i've practiced during my therapy with her, is to look into the root of the problems instead of wasting time & effort on dealing with the symptoms ( which is basicly what the pills do).
Beside that she is also a good listener, kind hearted, supportive & she really cares about your well being.

Dr. Aboulhosn is extremely caring while still being straight to the point. She helped me work through my partners issues with alcoholism and I feel like I have benefited greatly from my sessions with her. I’d strongly consider reconnecting with her if I were to need therapy again. She’s like talking to both your mom and your best friend at the same time. She helped me work through one of the worst periods of my life for 6 months and I’m very grateful I got the chance to work with her!
