Hello, I am Dr. Nawal Aboulhosn. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMHC), a Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMHC), a certified Addiction Professional (CAP), and a Certified Clinical Sexual Offender treatment Specialist (CCSOTS). I have completed the Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior therapy (TF-CBT) trainings. I hold a doctorate with emphasis on family and marriage Counseling. I have over seventeen years of experience as a therapist, in both the Community Mental Health model and in Private Practice. My experience includes working with individuals, couples and families.
My therapeutic approach is strength based with eclectic therapeutic techniques that conform to the individualized needs of my clients. I have extensive trainings in trauma, grief, narrative therapy, and cognitive behavior therapy.
I am an avid believer in holistic approach to mental health therapy: mind, body, emotional and social factors. I am heavily involved in continued research of the different trends of therapy.
I love traveling, gardening, and running. I appreciate knowing and learning about the different cultures. I love animals and I consider them an essential therapeutic relief.

I really like my counselor she's amazing
Dr. Aboulhosn has given me useful, practical strategies that fit in nicely with my yoga-based practices. (I am a yoga teacher and studio owner.)
She also relates to me on a personal level and understands how important my family is to me.

I have been speaking to Dr Nawal Aboulhosn since the start of August and she has not only given me such great advice and calmed me down during some tough times recently, but also been very kind and understanding in listening to some of the issues I have had with anxiety & anger. She has been very patient with me in listening to me and spoken to me very well in regards to issues I have had with work, family and a relationship with my ex-girlfriend that ended recently. I was referred to Dr Aboulhosn as my first counsellor and I wouldn't want to change her for anyone else. She is extremely kind and open-minded. She was patient with me when I ranted and she reads my journal entries that I share with her so that we can work together on resolving the issues I am having step-by-step. Dr Aboulhosn is a cheerful and alert therapist who shows genuine interest in what you have to say and in discovering who you are as a person. I think this helps her to know best how to help me which in turn makes me feel safe in placing my trust in her expertise.
