About me

If you’re feeling stuck, unmotivated, frustrated, hopeless, lost or ready for a life pivot; you’ve come to the right place. I can help you find a way to live in accordance to your values and goals, by helping manage your emotions more effectively. Sessions will provide insight into how your own thought processes work and identification of where some of your thought processes begin, and how to challenge them for growth.

From practicing in the student counseling center at Moody Bible Institute, hospital inpatient psychiatric unit, private practice, and a drug & alcohol addiction treatment center, I bring dedication alongside my strong and varied experiences to help you or your loved one. Being a counselor means more to me than a job, it is an interest in the psychology and philosophy, but most of all, helping my clients.

Whether life seems difficult right now or you are noticing an area that needs addressed or explored, my goal is to walk alongside in your journey with compassion and professional insight. I use a variety of theories and approaches to fit each individual, and look forward to working with you as you start your pivoting journey.

Mr Smith got me through some troubling times with a good mind and showed me some ways to fix them.

Wise, insightful and a great listener. Nick has helped me see some tremendously important behaviors (on my part) I probably would have never changed (and improved) without his support.

Nick has been a lifesaver. I was in great need of someone to help me navigate the waters of dealing with a narcissist. He taught me so many things and gave me so many great tools to deal with those issues. He helped me to begin the healing process and taught me how to recognize with and be ok with a relationship no longer being necessary in my life. I feel like I am an overall better person and have a greater understanding of my own life. I'm sure I will be working with Nick again in the future. He is such a special person to me, and an invaluable part of my life.

Nicholas Smith is a total pro. More importantly, he is relatable and meets you where you are. Nicholas allows you to speak, vent, explain, whatever you want to call it. I am new to all of this therapy stuff. Truth be told, I have needed this for 20 years and am just now getting to it. If you are new or a vet with therapy, Nicholas is a great person to have on your team and help guide you through this journey of rebuilding, and remaking your life into something greater.
