Nicola Fiveash, NCPS
About me
Hello, I’m Nicola, a therapist based in the United Kingdom. I have over five years’ experience supporting people through grief and loss, trauma and abuse, life changes, stress, anxiety, mood difficulties and relationship challenges.
I work integratively, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to ensure our work is tailored to you and your individual needs. This includes person-centred therapy; providing a compassionate and non-judgemental space to explore your feelings, psychodynamic approaches; helping you understand patterns and experiences that may have developed over time, and CBT; supporting you to explore the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Our work together will always be collaborative, with you at the centre of the process.
ADHD and neurodiversity are particular areas of interest within my practice. ADHD can affect much more than attention and organisation, and may influence emotional regulation, motivation, executive functioning, relationships, self-esteem and the ability to manage everyday demands. I support clients to develop a greater understanding of how their neurodivergence affects them, while exploring practical ways to navigate challenges, build on their strengths and develop greater self-acceptance.
I offer support for a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, depression and low mood, mood disorders such as Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), emotional dysregulation, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, trauma, stress, overwhelm and difficulties arising from significant life changes. I can also support you to explore how past experiences, relationships and patterns of behaviour may be influencing how you feel and respond in the present.
My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in compassion, safety, autonomy and respect. I understand that healing is not linear and that there is no single way to process difficult experiences. Therapy can involve making sense of the past, understanding what is happening for you now, or finding ways to feel more grounded and able to move forward.
At the heart of my work is the belief that being genuinely heard with empathy, warmth and without judgement can be a powerful catalyst for healing and self-understanding. I believe you are the expert in your own story and that, even when things feel overwhelming, you already hold strengths and resources that we can work together to uncover and build upon.
Taking the first step towards therapy can take courage. Whatever has brought you here, I offer a calm and supportive space where you can be yourself, explore what you are experiencing and work at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you. I would be honoured to walk alongside you through that process of reflection, growth and change.

I enjoyed several sessions with Nicola and each time I was met with compassion, kindness, patience and respect. I never felt pushed into talking about anything I wasn't ready to talk about, whilst simultaneously feeling encouraged to explore topics that were perhaps a little tricky to navigate yet done with grace and empathy. Would highly recommend Nicola x

Nicola has been the first person that I feel has really listened to me and understood, I’m trying to understand everything better myself and think I’m getting to know myself better. She is patient and allows a safe space for me.
