About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and in Louisiana with over 12 years of experience in individual and group therapy, primarily in crisis and trauma. I have worked with clients of varying diagnoses, including depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, psychosis, as well as substance abuse and dual diagnosis. Most of my clients have been adults, but, in addition, I have over two years of experience working with families, including couples, parents, children, and chronically suicidal teens. I have used all kinds of creative interventions, including art, music, animal-assisted, Tai Chi, yoga, mindfulness, writing, and life narrative.

My primary goal is to help you identify, manage, and work through any emotional or behavioral problems that impede your quality of life. My role as a therapist is not to judge, but rather to listen and provide support while you work to face problems head-on. I will guide you to navigate to the root cause of your personal crisis, while learning valuable coping skills that will help you stabilize your mood and behaviors

My therapist is understanding and caring. Taks the time to inquire about my experience and my current situation. Very empathetic. I'm grateful for the time with someone who has experience with my issues.

Norma has been such a blessing to my life. I had specific criteria when filling out my form, and BetterHelp.com did a great job picking her as the counselor for me. I've only been meeting with her for 9 months, and already, I have gotten set free from the bondages of anxiety and guilt, the two things I was most certainly in denial that I even dealt with. I had to chuckle when I came to the realization that I did...and then it was gone. I was free. The work we've done together, the thoughts we've ponder, the point of views we've share and toss over and discussed, yielding such rewards in a short amount of time...I could not be more grateful to have been matched with Norma. She's a gem.

She alway’s tries and succeeds to find out what next needs to be done to get through the week! She is also very understanding and is easy to relate to on a lot of matters, so it feels like you are talking to a mother or a friend.
