About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida. I attended school later in life and I have worked in different areas of social work. The areas include working with children and families that are involved in abuse situations; crisis counseling; working with adolescents in a diversion program; family counseling; and as a school social worker. I helped students achieve academic success so that they were able to set goals for their future. I also worked with children who had emotional and behavioral problems, and substance abuse issues. I co-facilitated parenting groups that taught parents how to communicate with their adolescent children.
I am compassionate, empathetic, and I care deeply about people being happy. I am easy to talk to and nonjudgmental. My goal as a therapist is for people to reach their full potential and be satisfied with where they are in life. My approaches are Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but I incorporate other approaches as necessary.
Entering into therapy is the first step towards making a positive change. I want to be a part of that change.

Phyllis is a kind person, and a good listener. I never felt judge, but always felt supported.

She listens and points me in the direction to go or a direction to try. I appreciate that she reads my journal entries and responds to some of them. A tough time in my life is more of a speed bump than a ditch because of her good counsel.
