About me

Hi. My name is Sandra DeCarolis and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor in Colorado. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from CU Denver and a Master’s degree in Community Counseling from Regis University in Denver. I am also a Certified Trauma Informed Care Practitioner. I have worked with a variety of clients including school aged children, teens/ adolescents, and adults that present with a variety of issues and concerns including but not limited to: trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar and mood disorders. Sometimes my clients have substance use and mental health issues. Or, they may be dealing with communication, self-esteem or social anxiety problems.

I am integrative in my approach to therapy in that I utilize Person Centered, Solution Focused, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies to assist during the sessions; whatever feels appropriate. My treatment approach is based first, on developing a therapeutic relationship with the client that has its foundation in trust. I will also utilize your strengths to help you achieve your desired changes and treatment goals.

I believe people have enormous potential and it is my desire to help them achieve the happiness, wholeness and the balance they desire in their lives by facilitating awareness and by introducing them to a variety of coping skills that they can utilize in times of duress.

I applaud your courage for reaching out for assistance and I look forward to witnessing your healing and evolution.

Sandra is a wonderful combination of personable and getting to the meat of the matter.
She puts you at ease as if you are talking to a wise friend. She listens without judgment and encourages you to answer your own questions and see things from a different angle. I am grateful I was led to her, and couldn’t be happier.

Sandra’s knowledge and experience is invaluable to the individual who may feel lost like I was. Her deep understanding of psychology and philosophy combined with her compassion made for the perfect therapist to help me out of a seemingly never ending rut and I can’t recommend her enough.
