About me

Hello ,

• First off, please call me Scott.

• Thank you for sharing information about yourself! I'm very pleased you are reaching out for help. For some, taking the first step toward counseling can be the hardest.

• I am very open to whatever works best for you (as long as it does not harm you or others). I provide high quality psychotherapy. Often there are many twists and turns as one becomes psychologically and socially healthier.

• It is my goal with every client to demonstrate empathy, kindness, and I provide care based on the needs of my clients. I never judge others, respect for one another is important for successful treatment. I work to build & strengthen the dignity of my clients. We are free to live our lives as we please.

• It seems to me many of my skills developed partially due to chronic low vision, and the problems that come with it. It is natural for me to perceive one’s pain and distress, as I've dealt with my own.

• I appreciate your interest considering me for the assistance you seek! It is a High Honor and Privilege to be invited into one's personal life to facilitate positive change.

• You can read more about my background, education, experience, and therapy approach by clicking on my name on this page.

• I encourage you to review my schedule for an appointment Date / Time that best fits your personal and professional obligations.

• I often send out educational materials regarding cognitive, mental, emotional, and behavioral health. It is my hope the articles will assist you in creating a better understanding of one’s self & others.

• Thank you for trusting me to help you. I look forward to our first visit. I work hard for those in my care. I will provide non-judgmental support, empathy, encouragement and resources.

• I encourage my clients to journal, make notes in between sessions as this provides topics to focus on.

• My goal is to help clients meet their emotional & psychological needs as they work to improve their internal thoughts, feelings & behaviors.

• Social support is extremely important & I encourage my clients to interact with others regularly.

• I look forward to meeting with you.

Scott is the therapist I need. He listens, and he interacts with me. I know I would rather have a therapist who engages in conversation rather than one who asks me " how do I feel about" all the time, with no input.
