About me
Is something keeping you up at night or you are unable to focus at home and/or work/school? There is a chance that you may need to speak to someone and I may be that someone you need to speak with.
My name is Shalika Eaddy-Henderson and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have been working in the field for about 8 years and have worked with several populations (homeless, substance abuse, children, adolescence and adults). I started a non-traditional path where I received my first Master's degree in Public Administration while working for a bank. While this may not seem like it is the best path to eventually obtain a Master's degree in Social Work, it helped me tremendously. I gained an appreciation for some of the things an individual may go through which can lead to depression, anxiety, substance abuse, etc. Working at a bank is the reason why I chose the career path of being a Social Worker, to be able to help others manage the stressors of life.
My approach to therapy is to meet the client where they are in a prompt and appropriate manner. I like to begin my sessions with how your week, day or last hour has been and then move into the therapeutic process. However, it will be totally up to you how you would like to begin the process as THERAPY IS FOR YOU!
I attended the University of New Haven (CT) for my Master's in Public Administration and Fordham University (NY) for my Master's in Social Work and have enjoyed every bit of the transition from being employed with a bank to engaging in the therapeutic process with individuals. Additionally, I am close to completing my Doctorate in Social Work at Capella University.
It will be a pleasure working with you when and if you are ready!

Shalika and I have been working together since 2020. I can’t begin to explain how perfect it was she showed up when she did. And now, 4 years later, she has helped guide me through so many different times in my life. I enjoy all our conversations, even the tough ones, and I look forward to every session.

Shalika, is my force counselor here and most definitely the right fit for me. She immediately made me feel like I was just having a conversation with an old friend which set my anxiety at ease and allowed me to be more free and open in our conversations. She’s never judge mental never puts her opinions on me but is not afraid to express herself as a human and that I also connect with an appreciate.

Shalika is a wonderful therapist who listens intently and engages as needed to facilitate the sessions. She has a very non- judgmental, easygoing and relatable personality, making it easy to open up and share things that one may not feel comfortable sharing with friends or family. I’m very glad I was matched with her and would definitely recommend Shalika as a therapist.

My sessions with Shalika leave me feeling empowered to go into my next week. She understands my concerns, and offers great suggestions or little homework assignments, and tools to consider, in order to help me feel confident about how I operate in my daily life. Shalika is honest, and earnest with her responses, can gently hold a mirror up to you, and will definitely be genuinely invested in your growth and development. 100% recommended.

I've only had a few sessions with her. And admittedly don't communicate as often as I should. But I can tell by already the few interactions I've had with my counselor so far are very positive. She's very sweet and compassion. Shalika is a great listener. But she makes sure to not just listen. And really tries to guide you which atleast by me is what a good therapist does.
I would highly recommend.
