Shelly Wims, LPC
About me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Missouri with over 3 years of experience in behavioral health and clinical practice. Throughout my career, I have worked with adolescents and adults navigating a wide range of mental health and substance use challenges. My clinical experience includes supporting individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, substance use disorders, and those who have experienced trauma, emotional abuse, and other life stressors.
My therapeutic style is warm, interactive, and client-centered. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. I approach each client with compassion, empathy, and sensitivity, recognizing that every person’s journey is unique. I primarily utilize evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and cognitive reframing techniques to help challenge negative thought patterns and promote meaningful change. Treatment is always tailored to meet your individual goals, strengths, and needs.
Taking the first step toward support can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to do it alone. If you are ready to begin your healing journey, I am here to empower and support you every step of the way. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.

Shelly has helped me so much these past few days. She’s always open to listening without judgment, and she gives genuinely good advice on what next steps to take. She’s helped pull me out of some really dark moments involving family drama, and I truly couldn’t thank her enough for being there for me through it all.
