Hello!! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia for the past 14 years. My professional experience began in mental health hospitals with children and young adults who were experiencing extreme trauma and eventually a Care Manager for managed care companies. I later opened a private practice called My Caring Counseling that allowed me to have a creative platform for my clients who needed a space to feel comfortable and safe to express themselves and heal. My experience is primarily with clients who are struggling with depression symptoms, life stressors, anxiety, coping with unexpected life changes, self esteem issues, interpersonal and relationship challenges and couples who are struggling with fertility issues.
My theoretical orientation is an eclectic approach to healing and treatment. My techniques include motivational interviewing, a wholistic approach to include mindfulness techniques, movement-therapy to enhance the person’s cognitive, physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, solution-focus therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy. My style is very warm, caring and open, being attentive and listening closely to your needs. I believe we all have the power to heal ourselves and make the changes we seek within our lives and I am here to help you navigate through this process.
As a therapist from a culturally diverse background I am committed to include all culturally diverse groups of young adults, older adults and couples. I completed a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training to ensure my therapeutic approach is tailored appropriately and includes everyone. It is important to remain aware and sensitive to the needs of my clients.
I am excited to be your therapist and help you navigate your life's journey.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Shirnel Alleyne-Grant. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
This is my first time using BetterHelp and Shirlen is the first therapist I was connected with. I had expected to need to change therapists a few times before finding the right fit - from our first session I knew that Shrinel got it, and gets me. Our sessions are productive and effective. She listens so well and can get right to the core of situations and my own ways of being while still empowering me. Straight from the heart, I would recommend Shirnel to anyone.
I enjoyed our earlier sessions but the last two she has been dismissive and distracted and it hasn’t been a good experience.
Just the right amount of tough love and patient understanding to push me in the right direction. I really cannot ask for a better therapist.
Shirnel is awesome. I felt heard, seen, and I saw improvements in my health. I’m so grateful for BetterHelp.
Shirnel is as solid as they come. A great listener . She leans into what you’re saying and you can tell that you have her attention. It’s clear that she wants to help you get better. I would highly recommend her to anyone that’s looking for a therapist that I going to treat you like you’re their only patient.
Shirnel is a great listener and has a good ability to sense & retrieve deeper understanding on any concern.
I really appreciated sessions with her, would definitely suggest for that :)
Thanks for your time
Shrinel has been a wonderful therapist, companion, supportive female figure in my time here on Betterhelp. From our first meeting, she listened so carefully and replied with compassion and empathy. She's very well spoken and takes a kind and optimistic approach in life that has made me think more positively and with brighter goals than I had previously had coming into therapy. Her advice has always been directive but also respectful and realistic. She's as much of a life coach as she is a therapist, covering a wide range of someone who you can trust with your challenges and emotions in life.
I’ve had two sessions with Shirnel so far and she’s been the greatest fit for me so far. I’ve always been told that finding the right therapist can take time, which it definitely has. Shirnel has been a breath of fresh air for someone going through the struggles I’m going through. Shirnel is very welcoming, understanding and attentive and I already feel great after a few sessions. Cannot recommend enough!
Love working with Shirnel. She is a great listener and kind person. Can only recommend
My therapist is awesome, she listens and is very attentive and provides me with fun homework that will impact my life right now in a positive way
I loved working with Shirnel!! I felt that she was right for me the moment I matched with her because she was so full of energy and had amazing vibes. I have been feeling so much better and it feels like something heavy has been lifted off my chest. After having my counseling sessions with her, I have become more relaxed and happy. She's a warm person and makes you feel very comfortable. I would definitely recommend her to others!
Shirnel is the BEST! I feel so safe with her because she understands me! I have never felt so sure and secure with a therapist like I do with Shirnel.
Shirnel is so nice and my favorite therapist on this app.
