Sommer Garrett, LPC
About me
I'm a therapist dedicated to supporting individuals through some of life's most challenging experiences. I specialize in addressing deep-seated concerns like guilt, shame, and abandonment—often rooted in attachment patterns, family-of-origin issues, and past experiences of abuse. I'm particularly passionate about supporting survivors of sexual assault and those navigating posttraumatic stress, as well as individuals working toward self-love and forgiveness.
I believe healing happens in the context of safe, authentic relationships. My goal is to provide a space where you feel comfortable sharing your story without fear of judgment. Together, we will explore how your experiences have shaped your relationships, sense of self, and the way you move through the world, while also identifying the strengths that have carried you this far.
My work is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), bilateral stimulation, trauma-informed care, and creative expression. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to each person's unique journey, helping clients better understand themselves, develop practical tools for healing, and move toward a life marked by greater hope, resilience, and purpose. I believe each person's story is unique, and I work collaboratively with clients to understand how past experiences have shaped their current thoughts, emotions, relationships, and behaviors. Together, we identify strengths, foster resilience, and develop practical strategies that promote healing, growth, and lasting change.
