About Me

Your story honors me
As you have a path that is unique to you.
I offer to walk with you …
To provide support over rough ground,
To offer tools for repair or new directions
Or just a chance to tell your story.

I bring 40 years of sobriety, 39 years of parenting; 28 years of working with children, adolescent, adults and families in the areas of mental health, substance use disorders and crisis stabilization in settings including outpatient, residential and inpatient. Personally, I also benefitted greatly from six years of therapy as I believe a good therapist has a therapist. Thus, my style has become intuitive over time instead of using just one type of therapy. My virtual toolbox includes genograms, recovery based therapy, motivational interviewing, empathetic listening, gestalt therapy, cognitive-behaviorlal theory, narrative therapy and tai chi.

Areas of speciality include PTSD/Moral Injury/Compassion Fatigue; Substance Use/Abuse/Dependency; ADHD; LGBTQ+; Depression; Anxiety, Childhood Trauma and Family Systems. I especially welcome people who may feel marginalized or isolated in this time of heightened stress as we are coping with a pandemic.

I offer to walk with you to provide support over rough ground, to offer tools to ease your path forward or just a chance to rest and share your story in safety.

I have only had 2 sessions with Sus. She is extremely generous with her time and sharing insights/stories that are metaphors for learning.

Sus is absolutely amazing. She is sincere and truthful! She has so many ways to take points of view, and she teaches you how to cope. I do not feel like a patient in speaking with her. I feel like I am talking to a long-lost close friend. Sus really takes her time with you and is so gentle, and is tough when you need her to be!
I have been to so many therapists, and never have I so easily connected with one! I LOVE Sus!!!

I have had several therapists and never connected like I do with Sus. She offers so many different view points and sincere suggestions. I don’t feel like a time slot. She makes time and has offered to sacrifice her personal time for me when needed. I get excited knowing I have a session with her. She has a stellar personality and makes me feel so comfortable sharing. I have very high walls and communication is very hard for me usually. I feel she gives me effective tools to learn myself and this life I’m living.

Sus is always there for me when I need her, and she is always giving me very helpful and calm advice. I would highly recommend her for any sort of self confidence or relationship uncertainty. I plan to continue with her because I feel great having someone like her to talk to!

Sus has been absolutely wonderful. She is encouraging and very kind. She has been doing a tremendous job at checking in with me and making herself available. She times the time to listen and offers inciteful advice. She uses great analogies to help understand the process of navigating through my situation.
