About me

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed Professional Art Therapist, licensed in Kentucky. I have more than 12 years experience working with anxiety, depression, medical trauma, PTSD, ADHD, Autism, as well as bereavement and grief. My style is humanistic with a client-centered approach supporting evidenced-based intervention. I believe in human beings, in their capacity to grow, change and endure. I believe in using the strengths of the individual as the basis of finding solutions to existing difficulties and paths forward. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy but am able to supplement this with Expressive therapies which can provide a deeper personal meaning to the pursuit of wellness. I believe in the importance of establishing a safe place for the building of relationship and communication with unconditional acceptance of the individual, and of holding that safe space open for the expression and movement of the individual in therapy.

I've been seeing Jill as my therapist for some time now (first in 2021) and her impact on my mental health journey has been profoundly positive. After dealing with severe anxiety and depression, I found in her not just a professional but a beacon of hope and understanding. There was a period when I felt well enough to pause therapy for over two years, but a recent setback led me back to her guidance.

Jill stands out for her extraordinary kindness and calm demeanor. Every session with her is a testament to her deep respect, wisdom, and unparalleled expertise in dealing with mental health issues. She listens intently, and her responses are not just insightful but also reflect a high level of experience in the field.

One of the most striking aspects of Jill's approach is her ability to provide practical immediate relief alongside long-term strategies. For instance she introduced me to specific exercises like breathing/massage techniquess to activate certain nervous systems. These exercises brought about instant relaxation and relief, which triggered highly positive emotions / sensations.

What I appreciate the most is Jill's respectful and understanding nature. She creates a safe space where I feel heard and validated. Her sessions are more than just conversations; they're learning experiences that have equipped me with the tools to combat my anxiety and depression.

In summary, Jill is an exceptional therapist whose expertise, kindness, and practical approach to therapy have been instrumental in my mental health journey. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a compassionate and skilled professional in dealing with mental health challenges.
