About Me
Welcome to Betterhelp! My name is Susan Wolanyk and I am an LPCC-S in OH with 8 years experience working with moderate to severe mental illnesses in a community setting amongst a diverse population of Hispanics, East Europeans, Blacks and new immigrants from around the world. So many clients were filled with shame and fear which birthed in me a compassion and patience for our human vulnerability. My masters program also heavily stressed clinical humility in dealing with hurting people. My work focused on grief and loss, depression, anxiety, trauma and abuse with adults and teens. This is a second career for me after working in corporate settings while raising five children. I use an eclectic, person-centered approach which involves working with what motivates you and utilizes your unique, individual strengths. I will come alongside and have hope for you when you can’t believe what you want is possible. My goal, as a therapist, is to find solutions that bring lasting change and set you up to take your unique place in this world; a world that needs you and your gifts. My specialties are transitions, life adjustments, parenting issues, anger management, grief and loss. Working together, we will build a strong therapeutic alliance based on mutual regard and respect. Congratulations on taking action to build your best life!

Susan is great
Susan combines educational knowledge along with learned experience to help with exploring options for approaching my concerns. She listens and offer time to repeat back what was discussed in session and reiterate how to use coping skills outside of session. Susan is awesome!
We just began but Susan listens to identify needs and I like that.
Susan is very good. I like the fact that the sessions are very relaxed. It’s like speaking to a friend. Also I appreciate the Christian atmosphere
Susan is knowledgeable and offers sound ideas. She has been very easy to talk to and has the life experiences to understand what I am experiencing.
Susan is a great therapist! I am so glad I found her on this site. She listens and offers insight that allows me to thoroughly think about things that matter to me in my life.
Susan listened very carefully to my needs, and helped me break down my challenges into manageable pieces. I would recommend Susan to anyone seeking therapy.
She’s amazing!
Susan was a great comfort to me during an overwhelming time. She listens well and remembers the things I have said. Her questions make me feel like she’s seeking understanding, not making judgements.
Susan is wonderful! She listens and gives you the tools and resources to tackle your needs to become better and to heal. She is very compassionate.
I didn’t think I would be able to share my concerns with anyone, especially via telehealth.
Susan changed that. She’s not judging, she’s kind, and supportive. She gets we’re all fighting a war, and she wants to help you.
Thanks Susan!
Susan is caring, kind, and very easy to talk to. I’ve gone through a lot in recent years and she’s helping me to work through the anxiety and stress surrounding it. I appreciate her ability to provide Christian-based therapy as well.
She’s patient and kind and she listens to everything you have to say and helps you to understand ways to improve different aspects of your life also she just makes you feel heard.
I've only had one session but the one session I had was really good
Amazing person
I started therapy at a local office, and got exceptional help there. When my therapist abruptly moved, I knew I still needed some support. I connected instantly with Susan, and she did a wonderful job rounding out the rough edges leftover from my previous therapy. Susan is instinctual, insightful, and seems to be ready to roll with whatever I had to throw at her. She is professional and caring, and I wish we could be friends outside of therpay. Which I think speaks to how comforting she is.
I do want to add in to anyone starting therapy, that I had to choose to open up to Susan to get immediate results. Had I held back, she would have had to work harder to get to where we did, and ultimately it would have cost me more time and money. Doing my part of therapy meant being willing to open up and share, and receive.
Susan is very personable and takes the time to understand and listen to all the concerns/issues. She is knowledgeable, experienced and talented. I feel so much better after talking to her. She gives me the confidence, strength and the right tools that I need to overcome my challenges.
Susan is a great resource and confidante. Her understanding and non-judgmental style leaves you feeling assured and comforted. Highly recommended
