My name is Terry Jensen. I hold a Masters Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University, am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in NJ and practicing for over 30 years. While finishing my degree, I also attended the Institute for Gestalt Therapy and received my certificate. My professional experience includes Foster Care, Healthcare, and Dialysis. I also worked in a school for children with disabilities; however, my focus has been working with the Geriatric population and hospice. I have worked as a psychotherapist in nursing homes, private residences and assisted living facilities.
My process is to address the past, determine how it affects the present and work towards a positive outcome for the future. My approach is behavioral combined with psychodynamic therapy. We can focus on anxiety, depression, and adjustment to life changes.
As my client, I will treat you as an individual and provide interventions geared toward helping you achieve your goals. I am respectful and compassionate while addressing your needs and goals. Gestalt Therapy allows us to be in the present while addressing the past and modifying the behaviors for an improved future. My goal is to make you feel very comfortable and safe since divulging experiences can be difficult. Everyone willing to be courageous and work towards change needs to be treated with the utmost respect. Change is not easy, but worth the challenge. I would like the chance to work with you towards achieving these challenges.
I look forward to working with you providing support and empowerment as we work towards a positive outcome.

Terry is Very kind. Try’s to relate by her own experiences and suggests ways on how to get through the grieving process. She helped me feel more comfortable talking about my feelings. which is a difficulty of mine. She gives excellent ideas and exercises to do on your own. She listens and gives you very good advice during session to help you understand your problems.
Terry is down to earth and easy to talk to. I felt comfortable from the very start. She shares her experiences with honesty and I am able to understand my situation better after speaking with her. Terry reads my Journal entries quickly and I feel she is there for me even in between our appointments which is very helpful with the trust issues I have had throughout my life.

Terry is a quick study who immediately picks up on the true nature of a problem and offers memorable advice. She is a solid pro. I consider myself very fortunate to be able to share nearly an hour with her as she offers expert guidance on complicated issues with seemingly complete familiarity of the personalities and situations involved. Simply put, she is an angel.
