I have seen first hand that life is hard. I have been encouraged to see the power of therapy across all settings and over all barriers. I have seen lives changed; I love my job. My name is Tia Gitgood. I am a Social Worker licensed in Michigan, Tennessee, and Georgia with over 10 years of experience. I have worked in various settings from in-home to community clinics. I received my Master's Degree in Social Work from Georgia State University.
I utilize a mix of therapies. My priority is to help my client. I work to stay up to date on new research to ensure that if something can help, I know about it. I primarily utilize cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, and motivational interviewing. I believe the whole person must be treated. If you are not your emotional best, your body will tell you.
I would love to take this journey to healing with you when you are ready.

Tia is so kind and has a calming presence. She asks questions, and allows you time to consider your thoughts and feelings rather than guiding you to an answer. Even after a short while I already feel better and Tia’s guidance is to thank for that!

Tia is an amazing therapist! She is present and really shows that she cares. She cares by acknowledging your experience, by giving thoughtful questions, suggestions, & ways to work on the situation you’re going through. I 100% recommend her to others!

Tia is amazing. It’s been a few weeks but I feel so blessed to have found her. I thought I was miss in person sessions, however, she’s so personable it radiates through our video calls. Excited to keep working with her to tackle these challenges I’m facing.

Tia is always professional, dedicated (she will try to support in a variety of mediums/times etc) and is very proactive on sending messages and worksheets to supplement sessions. She is one of the best counsellors I’ve met over the years. I highly highly recommend her.

I've been with Tia for over a year now, and although I'm in the behavior health field myself, she has allowed me so much new clarity and freedom through our sessions. I've learned how to cope in healthy ways, how to find power through my anxiety, and on top of that, she's just a really great reflector and person to bounce ideas off of. She's one of the good ones!
