LGBTQIA friendly. My practice is centered around human issues. Positive relationships are challenging to build. Whether its parent/child, husband/wife, wife/wife, husband/husband or any other combination. My goal is to increase communication, understanding and knowledge between people in order to create positive and productive growth. We will focus on barriers and obstacles that may be keeping us from living our best lives, and work together on mapping out a plan for success. I have currently added substance abuse and anger management assessments to my practice.
As our society becomes more accepting of alternative relationships, the need for added support has increased. I offer that space where individuals can feel comfortable in knowing they are accepted. I am a fully licensed counselor focusing on sexual issues. This ranges from communication to sexual dysfunction and a variety of topics in between. I have recently completed my ASSECT certification and am now a certified sex therapist.
Giving a voice to individuals who may be afraid to be heard is empowering and fulfilling. No one should be afraid to be happy and for me, it is my passion to be uplifting to all. My practice is based on the West side of Atlanta, but I have various satellite options around the city.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Treva Sexton . We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Dr. T is an amazing therapist. She is easy to talk to and really has been a great and open relationship with me. She has helped me in many different situations and I am appreciative and thankful for her help and time
Dr. Sexton has been an incredible therapist. She is very eager to listen as well as share her experience when applicable to help provide more insight into challenges I am/have been facing. She is incredibly warm and approachable, making me feel comfortable speaking openly and honestly with her. Compared to other therapies and analysis I've been in, she feels present and I have never felt judged or belittled by any of her responses. She sends mindful messages between sessions and is incredibly flexible. Very much recommend.
Treva has been tremendously helpful with creating a positive image of myself. She listened carefully to my concerns and understood straight away what I needed to improve on. She gave me practical ways to boost my self esteem and used a holistic approach to combat my negative self talk. She is patient, wise, and caring and takes time to understand your point of view so as to be the best help possible. I wouldn’t be where I am today without Treva’ input and she has been so encouraging. I’m so grateful to Treva and I would highly recommend choosing her as your therapist.
Is very relatable and has amazing advice for life. It has been a very positive life experience for me. I look forward to continuing to work with her to sort out some of the challenges that I am taking on in life.
Kind, thoughtful, and open counselor. She immediately gives a sense of understanding and honesty. Strongly recommended!
She is amazing and very honest.
We clicked right away. I've never had a counsellor who I could talk so freely and relaxed. I've gone from not being able to see a future when I first started therapy, to realising my value as a community leader, learning to delegate tasks, and turning my relationships around. I know that Treva doesn't work miracle and this isn't magic - I did the work - but Treva has a way of getting me to believe in myself. Sometimes talking to Treva helps me to process and put into perspective how my week has progressed and I don't need any support other than to just go over everything... But I always, ALWAYS leave the session feeling empowered. I am truly grateful for Treva.
I really appreciate how relatable Treva is. She makes me feel like I'm not alone in what I'm going through and that I have the tools to help myself heal and move on from what is troubling me.
Amazing. Very open and easy to talk to.,
Treva was a kind and thoughtful ear when I was going through a family crisis. She gave me the reality check I needed and helped me identify key areas to work on. Recommend!
Treva is one of the kindest people that I have ever met. She is exceptional at what she does and she deeply cares about her clients. She can easily make a stranger feel like family and has already helped me so much! She is present, compassionate, deeply encouraging, kind, wise, and incredible! I could not more highly recommend Treva! She’s the best of the best!
Treva has been an incredible support resource for me! She understands me, respects me, and most of all listens to me. It's also been incredible to have an impartial female perspective in my life!
I haven’t been working with Treva for long but she’s already helping me explore the roots of my problems and working through how I can feel better in different situations in my life. I’m very happy with the treatment so far. Thank you.
