About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in both states of New York and Florida. I am a Master's Level Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP) in the State of Florida and a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in the State of New York. I have accumulated thirty-four (34) years of counseling experience. A lot of that counseling was done at Spofford Juvenile Detention Center and Riker's Island Correctional Facility in New York City. In 2008, I was graduated from Fordham University's Graduate School of Social Service with a Master's Degree in Social Work. My internship at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center was in dual diagnoses. After graduation, I worked in the outpatient clinic for the NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation at Elmhurst Hospital in Queens and Zucker Hillside Hospital in Glen Oaks on Long Island. I earned my undergraduate degree in English from the State University of New York at Buffalo. SUNY at Buffalo prepared me with an improved perspective on relationships. I believe in therapeutic relationships that are genuinely based in equality and respectfulness. Therefore, I practice Motivational Interviewing (MI), Strengths Perspective, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My relationships with clients are not ordinate-subordinate, normal-abnormal, or superior-inferior. I am a multi-faceted therapist who does not approach others with one-size-fits-all and cookie cutter treatments. I treat individuals with the utmost sensitivity while addressing their presenting issues. I look forward to speaking with you, as opposed to talking at you.

Wayne is an excellent listener and provides insightful and valuable feedback. His style is easy going and caring. He is excellent at circling back to revisit topics if they slip by as conversations take their course. I highly recommend Wayne.
