About me

I am a licensed professional counselor in the State of Missouri, and I have been practicing for six years. I typically work with adolescents and adults, and I have experience treating a broad range of concerns. These include anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, spiritual crises, organizational skills and goals, communication, and relationships. I also have experience with grief and trauma, as well as abuse. Finally, I have also worked with couples and pre-marital counseling.

I utilize multiple different approaches, depending upon the context and the client's specific needs. For instance, I often utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, logotherapy, narrative therapy, and existential approaches. I appreciate the complexity of individual's and the variability each person's unique set of circumstances bring to the table. Hence, my approach reflects these observations, as I aim to avoid over-simplistic or reductionist views of people and their concerns.

Life can easily become overwhelming, as our daily experiences present us with a staggering amount of complexity and stress. It's not reasonable to assume that we can, or even should, handle these things on our own. We are social creatures, and thriving in the world requires us to take hold of those who have extended themselves to us. That is what it means to make the choice to speak to a counselor. It is the acceptance of an invitation to walk together, with someone, through a season of life. It is one of the most human things we can do.

I greatly anticipate walking alongside you, as you take the first steps to address and overcome the obstacles in your path.

Wonderful therapist. So encouraging to me! I love his knowledge of scripture and how he helps me understand how it applies to my situation. Highly recommend.

William Wilson is an amazing therapist! He has really helped me work through my grief from losing my father and a relationship I was in that was emotionally abusive. With him I’ve been able to process a lot of my feelings and feel validated, seen, heard, respected, and feel like I am much better adapted and equipped to deal with my life now. 10 out of 10 definitely recommend!

William is fantastic! He met all of my survey criteria for what I was looking for in a therapist so that's a huge part of it but on top of that he's objective, personable, gives me great insights and information. He breaks things down (for me as a Christian) in spiritual terms and contrasts how the same things would be viewed through a spiritual lens as well as secularly which provides framework and balance around certain concepts which I think is awesome. He remains objective where needed and also gives genuine opinions when requested which I like. He has overall been a major help for me during a difficult time in my life. I'd highly recommend him to anyone!
