About Me
I am a family and marriage therapist licensed in Texas. I've experience working with non-profitagencie, community based mental health facilities and family advocacy centers. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including stress, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems and domestic violence.
I believe it is important for a client to be able to narrate their stories in a safe and warm environment. My therapy style is open and interactive. I believe in treating individuals with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I use a combination of Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Theory, and Solution Focused Therapy to help clients identify problematic patterns, behaviors and relationships in session.
My goal in therapy is to help clients
reflect on how their experiences thus far in life have shaped these patterns and challenge clients to discuss possible solutions or ways to experience the problem in a new way.
I believe the way in which we communicate and experience life affects how we choose to live each day and the quality of our relationships influences how we cope with stress, anxiety, happiness and sadness. Through the use of mindfulness practice. I hope to help clients learn to tolerate the new and different ways they experience the world and create lasting change. I'm here to support, guide and empower you.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Yolanda Barnett. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Yolanda is excellent. She supports my wife and I so much. She has really helped us to understand our relationship and how to communicate as a couple. Thanks so much Yolanda.
I've had multiple therapists on this app/website and none inspired me to write such a raving review after only a couple of sessions. Yolanda is so compassionate and seamlessly validates whatever it is I am feeling or going through, no matter how extreme (within reason), which makes for an extremely comfortable atmosphere. After each session I am left with solutions to try out and skills I can cultivate to become my best self for myself and others. I trust in her expertise to help guide me on this healing journey home to myself.
Great
Yolanda is a wonderful listener who will challenge and/or support your very thoughts. She has helped me change the way I see myself and has greatly improved my communication with others.
I like that she actively listens and sends worksheets to assist through the process.
