I believe that self-awareness is the key to a happy and fulfilling life. While excavating our pasts and discerning our futures is not always pleasant, it can be rewarding. My goal is to help my clients get to know themselves - and finally learn to love themselves!
I have a Masters from Northeastern University and have been a therapist for close to eight years. Much of my graduate school training focused on trauma recovery. I have extensive experience treating PTSD and depression, as well as a wide array of other diagnoses. For the past five years I have been honing these skills in a men's high-security prison. I am intimately aware of the toll incarceration takes on family and friends, how overwhelming and challenging re-entry can be, and the many issues that contribute to recidivism. I have experience treating substance dependence, vocational and existential issues, family systems issues, and couples, LGBT, and elder issues.
I have a particular affection for Buddhist philosophy, the Eriksonian school of thought, journaling, and pet therapy. I suppose that's one perk to this venue - your pets are always welcome on the couch!
I hope this site brings you one mile closer to the life you've been searching for.

She is able to provide great insight and really delves into the issue.
Abby is amazing!!! She asks just the right soulful questions to help me stay on course to true healing of the heart after a divorce. I find her soothing and powerfully wise!
Thank you Abby for helping me with this transitional stage in my life. T.
Abby has been an excellent counselor. She got me through a very difficult period in my life. She is patient, understanding and thorough (really works hard to get to the root of the problem and gives excellent advice)
Abby has been so kind in helping me delve into deeper thoughts about my issues and she has steered me toward other ideas I hadn't had. She has been highly responsive, completely non-judgemental (which you'd expect, but don't always experience), and informative with her insight and in providing further resources.
Abby has been tremendously helpful for me! She has been very understanding of my issues while also asking insightful questions to challenge me to see how I can change to make my life better. Highly recommended!
Abby has been very helpful to me in affirming and validating my experience of childhood trauma. She has been understanding, supportive and compassionate towards me. I have no hesitation in recommending her.
Abby is awesome and very responsive. Thanks!
Abby asks great questions, she has good insight, and is very non-judgemental.
I am able to talk to Abby and share my feelings. I feel like someone is finally listening.
Abby has been a great sounding board and voice of reason. After a few weeks Im feeling hopeful, which is a welcome change.
Abby Wilson (MS, LMHC) has been very helpful to me for my anxiety and agoraphobia. I am glad to know she is there to talk things through with and to help me through this difficult time in my life.
So far I am having a really good experience on betterhelp.com. I feel more connected to Abby Wilson than I have to any previous counselors that I have tried. I feel like I was matched to the right person that really gets me and can help with my struggles. I am optimistic for the first time in a very long time about my mental health.
