I obtained my Doctor of Philosophy from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, now known as Sophia University, in Palo Alto, CA. I completed my pre-and post-doctoral clinical training in both adult and child services programs at various community mental health agencies throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. During my clinical training, I provided individual therapy to adults and family therapy to parents, caregivers, and their children. In addition to my doctoral training, I have over 15 years of experience working in the mental health field as a mental health counselor, a residential counselor, and a para-professional.
A strong belief in prevention and early intervention of adverse childhood experiences inspires my work with adults, parents and caregivers, and families. Adverse childhood experiences can have a lasting impact and can influence our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in the present. A strong component of my clinical practice is finding and building resiliency in the presence of adverse childhood experiences. I use an integrative clinical approach that is trauma informed, strength based, client centered, and LGBTQ affirmative to support and assist clients in meeting desired goals. My clinical practice incorporates evidence based treatment practices dependent on client age and concerns.
