About Me

My name is Alanna Woolsey and I’m so glad that you've made the decision to start your wellness journey. I have been assisting people in improving their emotional health for over a decade as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Social Work and Counseling from the University of Alabama. I also attended the University of Massachusetts Medical School and obtained my primary care behavioral health certification. I am an active member of the American Counseling Association and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). I have a range of therapeutic experiences including inpatient psychiatric care , outpatient counseling, and telehealth services. I am experienced with clients of every age and stage of adulthood . Thank you for giving me the opportunity to provide support and guidance to you. I think it’s very important for you to feel that I am not just a therapist, but truly a partner in your experience. I don’t believe that people are broken and need to be “fixed.” I believe that sometimes very smart and capable people find themselves using behaviors that are stumbling blocks. I also believe that who we are today is influenced by many things in our past, both positive and negative. However, I feel that at any time we are allowed to make changes if what we have been doing is not productive or healthy. There is no single approach to therapy that I feel is “one size fits all.” We all learn and grow in different ways. I believe it is best to draw on a person’s strengths to help them solve problems or change behaviors. My availability will primarily fall on evenings and weekends, but I will check messages during the day. I look forward to partnering with you and exploring ways to lead a more satisfying life.
