About Me

Welcome to Better Help! Whatever is happening in your life right now has brought you to this step and that is a great first step! I hope our work together can get you to a place where you are on your way to, or are actively achieving the goals you have set.

I have a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from California Lutheran University (2014) and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. Since beginning my Master's program, I have worked to refine my counseling skills and knowledge. I have worked in Foster Care, Group Homes, Developmental Disabilities, Private Practice, and Crisis Assessment and Management. I have worked with a wide range of clients from the ages of 5 up to 65 years. I have worked with Personality Disorders, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Adjustment Disorders, Parenting frustrations and skills, and much more.

My therapeutic style is one of asking questions, actively listening, and trying to pull from your current strengths to build confidence in improving the struggles you're enduring. I often provide feedback, homework, and other skills to practice outside of the therapy hour. I do believe I can help you in discovering your own personal skills so that your success will come outside of the therapeutic setting.

I am an advocate for finding the most comfortable therapist-client relationship in order for therapy to be successful. I encourage my client's to express concerns or likes about previous treatment, in addition to our current treatment to ensure they are most comfortable with the current fit.

Allison Lieberman has become a confidant. I trust her, I can tell that she genuinely thinks deeply before she responds. She has begun to help me think critically and to find new perspectives within myself. She gives me hope and stability.

I am extremely appreciative of Allison’s time and help so far. She is kind and comforting, and always understands what I’m trying to say. I couldn’t have asked for a better match. I look forwards to working with her long term.

Allison has the ability to listen to what you're saying but extrapolate what you're trying to say. She then reflects this back to you and either through your own realization or through her interpretation gets you to understand what you are trying to say. This is all done and gentle and kind manner. By helping me realize my actions and what they do, plus offering me a place to vent my frustrations, Allison has helped me tremendously through one of the hardest moments in my life.

Allison has been such a great resource to lean on for me. She’s attentive and prompt and so kind. I feel like she really listens to me and is engaged in my progress.
