About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Addiction Counselor with a certification in Gambling Addiction. I have more than 7 years of experience working with a variety of individuals, including those experiencing chronic and persistent mental illness, substance use and process disorders, those involved or with a history of involvement in the criminal justice system, individuals experiencing emotional disregulation, and those who have experienced trauma and abuse.

I utilize a strengths-based approach to counseling, which starts with the foundation that individuals have strengths and that those strengths can be employed when working through any issue. I have training in several different therapeutic theories and approaches, such as dialectical behavioral therapy which centers on creating your best life, cognitive behavioral interventions, motivational interviewing interventions which help people move towards change by decreasing barriers in their life, and Seeking Safety to help individuals who have experienced issues with trauma and abuse move from surviving to thriving in their life.

I work to foster an environment of unconditional positive regard with whomever I work and believe in the individual's ability to create change in their own lives. I believe in helping to develop self-esteem so that individuals can learn to trust their decision making, while understanding that it is sometimes just nice to be able to have the support of others. I am looking forward to the possibility of working with you and supporting you in whatever part of your journey you're on for as long as you need.

She has been responsive and helpful when I needed an objective person to talk to.

Ann is an amazing counselor. She is full of compassion and gives great advice. I can share anything and I never feel judged. She is a true blessing!

Ann continues to be a non-judgmental, compassionate, and stabilizing force in my life!

I've only had a couple of phone sessions with Ann, but she is excellent. I feel like she understands my issues and all the circumstances around them and is able to narrow in on things I can actually do to help me work through my issues and be happier day to day. I very much appreciate that each session ends with something to do and concentrate on before the next session. She has helped me more in 2 sessions than I was able to achieve in several weeks of weekly one-on-one in person sessions with a previous counselor.
