I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of California with 7 years of experience providing individual, family, and group therapy. My therapeutic approach as a relational therapist allows me to help you develop better relationships with others in your life, including yourself. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space that welcomes people of diverse backgrounds.
As a relational therapist, I emphasize teaching individuals skills including setting healthy boundaries, learning to communicate their wants and needs, and cultivating a healthy interdependence with others in their life. I use warmth and humor to help you feel understood as an individual. My approach blends attunement and caring with creating practical solutions for helping you to deal with your problems. I also emphasize social justice in my work. I encourage my clients to discuss the effects that oppression has on their experiences, and we work together to find new ways to cope. I hope that when we talk, you feel safe, supported, and empowered to make lasting changes.
I earned a Master’s of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014. I also hold a Bachelor’s of Science with a concentration in Human Development and Psychological Services from Northwestern University. During graduate school, I completed internships at a high school and at a residential treatment center for children, where I provided individual and group therapy to children and adolescents. For the past 5 years, I have worked in community-based mental health with individuals and their families both in Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area.
I have training and experience in the following areas:

Annie is wonderful. Having such a supportive asset has helped me so much through many of my times of crisis throughout the last few months. I am growing into myself emotionally and I know that it is because of her guidance in helping me understand myself and be better on a daily basis.
My world is a better place because of Annie. She is there for me and helping me at a very difficult time.
