April Johnston

About Me

I am a licensed counselor (LPC #5482 in Idaho) who works with individuals of all ages. Many of my clients are young adults, often dealing with anxiety, confidence, depression, and life transitions. This is my fourth year as a counselor in private practice, and I consider it an honor to have this career. As your counselor, I strive to be validating and understanding, regardless of your situation. My style is warm, supportive, and down to earth. Depending on client needs, I use counseling techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness, and a person-centered approach. I also encourage clients to try creative techniques such as writing, music, art, nature therapy, and more. I am also a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200) and I am pursuing a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision.

Please let me know if you have any questions now or along the way. I look forward to hearing from you and working together!
