I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and have experience working with individuals young and older adults, couples, and families. I have worked in the counseling field since 2012. I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology at Jacksonville University and my Master’s Degree at Liberty University. My masters training had a precise emphasis on integrating psychology, theology, and spirituality. The first three years of clinical work I trained with a licensed clinical psychologist in psychological and academic assessment and formal diagnostic decision making. I have three certifications: (1) Acute Stress, Grief, and Trauma (2) Post-traumatic Stress and Trauma with Military Application (3) Pairs Couple Enrichment. Recently, I graduated with a Post-baccalaureate in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University. I served as an advanced researcher with Fielding Graduate University’s Forensic and Neuropsychology Research lab focusing mostly on personality disorders. In August 2016, I presented at the American Psychological Convention on my research of Personality Disorders.
I do consider my counseling to be a calling from God. However, I will accept and respect any person’s values and beliefs. Therefore, treatment plans and all interventions are decided collaboratively! Regardless of your preference, my treatment plans will include new research, patient motivation, and patient practice of new behavior and thinking. Therefore, therapy will likely result in homework assignments to do outside of session. I believe homework or self-experiments will motivate you to continue in healthy change! I will provide a supportive, warm, and challenging environment for you. Whether you are looking for a Christian counselor or not a christian counselor, I am prepared to meet you where you are and help you find the road back to healing. I look forward to helping you meet your goals!

April is very knowledgable and provides tools to help you throughout therapy. She is very supportive and realistic in her therapy and helping me set and achieve goals. Best therapy I have ever had!
Good listener, compassionate and is good with humor to lighten otherwise heavy topics. There were times I smiled instead of frowned and felt like she was that one good friend with terrific advice and guidance, while still being professional. She has definitely helped me overcome some demons that have plagued me my whole life. I can confidently say that my future looks brighter because of working with April.
I left each session with a weight off my shoulders
