About Me

Hello and welcome to my therapist page! I am so glad you have an interest in therapy and have thought to choose me as your therapist. Get ready for a well-rounded, friendly, and supportive approach to therapy.

I have over 13 years of working in the mental health field. I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Social Work from UNC Greensboro in 2006 but my journey to becoming a mental health professional started at an early age. Many of my family members were diagnosed with mental health issues such as Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, and Depression so I had the desire to help people change and feel better very young. I went into my undergraduate program wanted to be a psychologist but after a few semesters I felt lost until I wandered into the social work building on campus. I got to meet with the Director of the program and he made me fall in love with the idea of being a social worker. After graduating I worked at the local mental health center in my hometown as a case manager and continued my experience in smaller agencies throughout the county. In 2011, I decided to pursue furthering my education to reach my next goal of becoming a therapist. It was hard balancing jobs, internships and being a full-time student but I did it and the effort taught me to appreciate my hard work. I have been a therapist for 6 years and would not want to do anything else because helping people is my calling.

I have experience working with ages 3 on up to people in their 90’s. These people are just like everyone else, they just have some mental health issues that they need help with. I specialize in depression, anxiety, learning coping skills for a wide variety of diagnoses, self-esteem help and many other areas. I take a no judgements, open minded approach that is backed up by CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Family, and Couples therapy trainings. I have other trainings, too many to list, that help me have a very well-rounded approach. I will support and guide you through whatever you are going through and I look forward to helping you through your journey.

Ashley has been a great help as I have worked to overcome my anxiety. I'd highly recommend her to others struggling with anxiety or depression.

I've only been doing sessions with Ashley for a few weeks, but she's already been very helpful. She's helped me come up with some new, better coping techniques and has encouraged me to further explore the source of my issues. She's always very understanding and very supportive.
