Hello. I am a LCSW specializing in anxiety related disorders. My focus over the past ten years has been with survivors of trauma, loss and family upheaval. The majority of my clients described feeling anxious, depressed, confused, angry and overwhelmed. Often, these feelings resulted in relationship difficulties and loss, parenting struggles, job dissatisfaction and/or struggles with academic pursuits.
My approach to treatment strongly incorporates my belief in strengths and resilience. I have witnessed the courage of clients willingly confront their fears, personal obstacles and unhealthy coping mechanisms. I feel honored to help my clients overcome their old negative beliefs and perspectives and replace them with new, strong and positive approaches to their lives and experiences.

Barbara has been so awesome to work with! We use messaging to communicate and it has been so helpful. She listens to me and acknowledges my concerns and points me in the right direction. She is very easy to talk to and I know when I have a message from her, it's going to be well-thought out and helpful. I really appreciate her!
I was very hesitant that talking to a stranger would be more helpful than confiding in close friends/family. But I feel like she reads my mind. I was feeling like I wanted to move on to the next subject because hey, this thing IS pricey. And THAT session she suggested we move on to the next subject. I usually prefer counselors closer to my age (early 20’s) and I was worried the age gap would make it harder to see eye to eye but like I said I feel like she reads my mind half the time she can understand my feelings that I feel like are sometimes difficult to articulate, down to a Tee.
Barbara is one if the best therapists I’ve had in my short time with her, and there have been many others. I need a LOT of help. She is attentive, remembers details from your life, a great listener, and flexible in her approach and with your needs. I’ve learned so much valuable information about myself working with her. It has helped transform my relationships and forgive myself and be more gentle with myself.
