Beth Castrati

About Me

Hello! My name is Beth Castrati and I have been a clinical social worker since 2001. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Social Work.

I grew up in the military (Air Force) and lived in 7 states before the age of 12. I have experience communicating with people from diverse backgrounds, which has been very helpful to me in my career as a counselor. I have always loved learning about people and their lives. I am 53 years old, but I am young at heart! I have been a single mom since 1992 and have raised 3 sons. I received very good support throughout the years from others, and I am very appreciative of my "village" for all the guidance they have given me. Throughout the years, I have learned a lot about parenting, boundaries, discipline, acceptance, patience, and love. It is good to be able to pass this knowledge on to others and help them find their way in their own unique situations.

The experiences I have had in my life help me relate to others, although I keep in mind that we are all different and no one can really know exactly what someone else is going through. I work hard to create a safe, non-judgmental environment for others to explore what they want and need. I don't tell people what to do. I do pass on knowledge I have been given over the years and I support, support, support! You can always count on me to tell the truth. I believe honesty and trust are essential to good therapy. I have a good sense of humor but I can also sit with you while you are in pain, feeling vulnerable, and searching for answers. I have been there too, and I remember what it is like. When I was in my twenties, I was treated for anxiety (which runs in my family) and I had a wonderful therapist who gave me great coping tools. I pass those tools onto others now. I feel that having been to therapy myself, I can truly understand what it is like to feel vulnerable, afraid, and unsure about opening up to a stranger. It was one of the best things I ever did in my life and has helped me tremendously.

I have worked in Residential Foster Care, an Oncology Center, Inpatient Mental Health Unit, Dialysis, Private Practice with individuals and families, and the high school Health Center (providing therapy to teens).

I have specialized training in Grief and Loss, Chronic Illness, Mind and Body Connection, Family relations, and Sexual abuse and Trauma. I am an ally to the LGBTQ community and have also received specialized training on the unique challenges they face in everyday life. I am on the Ethics Committee at our local hospital and have spent 10 years working with our hospice organization providing training and support to staff and participants of a grief camp for children.

My personal philosophy is that everyone can use a little help navigating through life, there is no shame in seeking it, it is never too late to do it, people are valuable and deserve love and acceptance, there is always hope, and I feel extremely honored to be a part of the lives of my clients. Everyone has challenges, and you don't have to face them alone.

Beth has been a lovely support and a good listener. She was a perfect match for me as she could relate to almost everything I spoke to her about. I am actually confident that I don't feel confused as I was before having her sessions and she has helped clear out my path for me. All the best to Better Help and the sweet Beth Castrati x x hugs!

Beth has been a wise and wonderful support in ways I didn't even realize I needed. Her combination of professional consistency and personal voice really create a close and trusting space I am so grateful to have. She is always fair, open, and kind. It makes a big difference when you can tell how much someone deeply cares about what they do, and Beth is a true advocate. I have authentically learned and healed so much in this forum, thank you!

Beth has been wonderful. I really love being able to send a message anytime, on any of my devices, and 99% of the time, she gets back to me in 24 hours. She's good at nudging me toward solutions while supporting my right to feel my feelings. I would recommend her to anyone.

Beth has been absolutely wonderful in helping me on my journey to mental wellness. She's been a friend, a good listener and she's given me great advice for both the short and long term. With her help I've managed to overcome so many fears and personal issues that have held me back. I've finally been able to move forward with my life, something I've struggled to do alone for 10 years. Thank you, Beth, for all of your help, it's been invaluable and I just having you there to listen has been everything in my times of need.

Beth is a wonderful counselor who is empowering, easy to relate to, positive, and extremely helpful. I have only been with her for a little bit, but having Beth to talk to is already starting to have a very positive impact on my day to day life.

Beth was absolutely AMAZING for me! She was the 2nd counselor I had after my first didn't seem like she was really making an effort to understand and help me. I'm only canceling my subscription because I can't afford it right now but I could see her forever otherwise. Beth is compassionate, empathetic, and really made me feel like I mattered to her. HIGHLY recommend her!

I've just started to work with Beth so my case is ongoing, but from the beginning I felt safe and reassured speaking to her. She seems to understand my fears and irrational thoughts and feelings. She never puts me in any pressure or danger but she seems to have the answers I'm searching for so far who knows what happens in the future I'm sure Beth would say everyone is different and has different experiences to different situations. At the moment we both feel happy .

Beth is amazing!!! There are a lot of places and people you can seek out and be honest to, but few people listen. Few people give back that love you are ultimately wanting from someone. I recommend Beth Castrati because she listens and she loves.

For a very long time, I've searched Google, etc... on what the hell is wrong with me, does he really love me, is he cheating on me, searched and bought self help books, spiritual books, etc- NO ONE HAS GIVEN ME THE INSIGHT AND KNOWLEDGE I NEEDED EXCEPT THROUGH COMMUNICATION WITH BETH.

Why? Because she is a person who connects with you, serves you like you serve your loved ones, and commits to you'. She has the courage and is determined to get through your problems. We are not alone in this world! I am here to tell you that with confidence. Beth understands! She gets down to every detail in a few sentences and you'll begin to feel hopeful not helpless!!

Nothing is a quick fix, unless you do not want it to last. Do what she says and do them because you are worth it!!!

Beth thank you for your time and support, I'm going to keep talking with her because she is honest, loving, and important!!!

So far so good! Beth is very open to helping me work through things in the best way for me. She isn't forcing perspective down my throat. However she offers up some ideas to think about. I think she is a caring individual who really wants to help.

Written by S.T on Dec 01, 2015 after counseling with Beth for 2 months on issues concerning stress, anxiety, self esteem, and depression

Beth has been very patient and kind. She is relatable and shows true empathy by sharing her own experiences to show that she understands what her client is going through, and to make you feel less alone in your troubles. She also provides great resources to help with working through issues, giving you tools to help you keep helping yourself.

Written by E.L on Aug 26, 2015 after counseling with Beth for 2 weeks on issues concerning stress, anxiety, and depression

She's a great counselor! I've had one phone call conversation thus far and it was so easy to talk with her! It felt like I've known her for ages and she's super friendly.
