About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker and have spent almost my entire 34 year career providing counseling to adults of all ethnic backgrounds and sexual orientations who are over 18 as well as those who are elderly. My clients say that my manner is very caring and that I am easy to talk to. I have a master's degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington. I have certification from The Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and have received training and supervision to specialize in this approach to counseling. I am experienced in working with persons with psychiatric illnesses such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, schizophrenia and substance use issues. I've worked with combat veterans and law enforcement personnel. I help clients by partnering and collaborating on their goals, introducing the cognitive behavioral model of life problems and teaching CBT coping skills, problem solving, anger management, communication and other life skills. I believe that a solid trusting relationship is essential to the helping process.

Amazing calm, reassuring, compassionate and competent therapist. Our sessions are very helpful and he tunes into my current needs, gives me space to ramble, but also gives in-depth heartfelt feedback and offers personal connection. I feel very safe with Brad and hope we will continue to work together for a long time.

Brad has been extremely helpful to me in coping with PTSD. He’s very enjoyable to talk to, and has helped me sort out several of my problems. Also, he’s very good at providing additional resources that have helped me in between counseling sessions. I would definitely recommend him. He’s very good, and I have been to a few counselors.

Went into this really just thinking my councilor would just be someone to talk to and share experiences with, but Brad has given me more and more tools and insight into my own mental thought process every time I see him. He’s done great for me and I’ve already gave my trial code out to multiple people after the second session because it truly can help anybody. Rather struggling with minor thought problems or even major. Brad has been professional and even somewhat relatable. Very appreciative of what he’s done for me and what this app has done for me.

Brad is a very understanding counselor. He recaps my thoughts really well even after I feel like all I've done is just blabber on. And then he helps me get to the root of the problem, which I find very helpful. Some times though, from one session to the next he would ask the same questions about me which I have already shared many times which is understandable considering how many clients he probably has, but does make me feel a little sad. Overall though, he's been a soothing presence to have.

I only had two sessions with Brad so far but it has been already very helpful. Brad is very kind, soft-spoken and supportive and his empathy can be felt. The questions he asks to reframe your perspective on things and the exercises he offers and talks you through have been super helpful for my specific situation. I am really grateful and look forward to continue working with Brad.
