About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker and have spent almost my entire career providing counseling to adults over 18 and the elderly. My clients say that my manner is very caring and that I am easy to talk to. I have a master's degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington. I have had special training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy or CBT from a founding fellow of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. I am experienced in working with persons with psychiatric illnesses such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, schizophrenia and substance use issues. I help clients by partnering and collaborating on their goals, introducing the cognitive behavioral model of life problems and teaching CBT coping skills, problem solving, anger management, communication and other life skills. I believe that a solid trusting relationship is essential to the helping process.
