About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker and have spent almost my entire 34 year career providing counseling to adults over 18 and the elderly. My clients say that my manner is very caring and that I am easy to talk to. I have a master's degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington. I have certification from The Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and have received training and supervision to specialize in this approach to counseling. I am experienced in working with persons with psychiatric illnesses such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, schizophrenia and substance use issues. I help clients by partnering and collaborating on their goals, introducing the cognitive behavioral model of life problems and teaching CBT coping skills, problem solving, anger management, communication and other life skills. I believe that a solid trusting relationship is essential to the helping process.

Brad is a very understanding counselor. He recaps my thoughts really well even after I feel like all I've done is just blabber on. And then he helps me get to the root of the problem, which I find very helpful. Some times though, from one session to the next he would ask the same questions about me which I have already shared many times which is understandable considering how many clients he probably has, but does make me feel a little sad. Overall though, he's been a soothing presence to have.

Brad is a compassionate, calm, empathetic and patient listener and provides very professional in-depth feedback. I have severe trust issues with people, but was able to share some traumatic experience with Brad early on. Our sessions are very helpful and I feel safe with him.

I only had two sessions with Brad so far but it has been already very helpful. Brad is very kind, soft-spoken and supportive and his empathy can be felt. The questions he asks to reframe your perspective on things and the exercises he offers and talks you through have been super helpful for my specific situation. I am really grateful and look forward to continue working with Brad.

I have trouble opening up to people but with Brad , I feel very comfortable and relaxed. We have only communicated through a live chat but the way he responds quickly seems like he is easy to talk to in person and also a really good listener .
My time with Brad has been a success! I’m doing extremely good.
