About Me

Thank you for considering me to be your counselor. I am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in both California and Utah. The focus of my practice is helping couples and individuals improve their relationships with their significant other, children, parents, other family members, or close friends. I have worked with a variety of clients whose concerns have included relationship issues, parenting problems, porn addiction, depression, and anxiety.

When counseling with me, my job is to be considerate, non-judgmental, understanding, compassionate, and instructive. I believe everyone deserves respect and should be heard. My approach to counseling is client-centered along with a focus in cognitive behavioral therapy, and emotionally focused therapy. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, your thoughts, and your emotions so that you can make important decisions and changes regarding improving your life.

By seeking out counseling, you are already taking a big step towards improving your life. While this journey may be difficult, keep it up! Keep taking those steps towards your happiness. I would love to help you on this journey as your counselor.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Brian Donovan. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Written by V.I. on Apr 17, 2021 after therapy with Brian for 4 weeks on issues concerning stress, anxiety, grief, sleeping disorders, and coping with life changes

Brian is supportive and understanding, and does not trivialize the difficulty or seriousness of what you are going through. At the same time, he offers encouragement and validation for whatever positive efforts you are already making to improve the situation. I feel that both aspects are really important. He has given me many suggestions and guidelines that are to the point and practical for my situation.
