I am a counselor licensed in Texas with over 15 years of experience working with a diverse population of individuals. I have worked in group homes with adolescents and teenagers, both outpatient and inpatient settings with adults and most recently, I managed the mental health department at a maximum security male prison.
I have worked with clients with a wide variety of issues including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, relationship issues and personality disorders. I also have a lot of experience working with individuals in crisis as well as clients experiencing psychosis and/or decompensation due to living with severe mental illness.
My counseling style is warm, interactive and rooted in developing a meaningful connection with my clients. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, but I also don't mind confrontation if it's beneficial to your goals. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and operates from a client-centered perspective. I truly believe that you are the expert when it comes to your life and getting your needs met. I'm just there to help you navigate these changes and help you process your emotions along the way. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards making positive changes. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

Brooke has made me feel extremely comfortable from day one and is always very helpful with stimulating my brain to look at things differently than I normally would
I have seen a few counselors and ultimately got discouraged that I would ever find one that understood me until I joined better help and met Brooke Lamartina. Forever grateful for her guidance and accountability.
Brooke has been exceptional in providing me with unconditional support and understanding in a time that has been so tumultuous. I’ve never felt judged for what was discussed in therapy, and she always made me feel so at ease and comfortable to share all that I was feeling. Brooke shows compassion and allows that space for me to explore all my thoughts and feelings while also balancing the skill of challenging me when needed. I’m so thankful for her and this professional counseling connection. She was there for me in a time I needed her the most.
Brooke is phenomenal and I can't recommend her enough. Already in our first month of sessions, I've had numerous breakthroughs and positive changes in perspective. She has a down-to-earth approach in counselling, free of judgement while full of unique insight and gentle encouragement. I feel really lucky to be working with her!
Very nice and informative on different issues
I’ve had two sessions with Brooke and so far I am loving it! She is so personable, respectful, and quick to respond. She really seems to understand my lifestyle and my trauma, and responds in a thoughtful way so that I never feel that I’m being judged or analyzed. And I love that we’re able to joke and laugh through most of the session, despite the darker topics. I always leave my sessions with a smile and feeling so much better than I did going in. I strongly recommend her!
