In addition, I hold bachelors degrees in biology studies, and social work received from Winston-Salem State University, and The university of North Carolina at Greensboro, respectively. I currently work as a licensed clinical social providing individual, family, couples, adolescent and therapy.
My practice focuses on the individual and understands when treating a patient "not all sizes fit all". Therefore I work collaboratively with the patient on the best treatment modalities to meet their individual needs. This can include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing etc. In addition I combine a variety of treatment interventions that integrates a patient's mind , body and spirit for overall holistic wellness.
I have over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field in various settings. This includes: community mental health, inpatient and outpatient private practice, trauma, substance use, schools etc. Recently I have began to integrate movement based therapy, a practice that requires movement through yoga, mindfulness, and synergizes body flow with the assistance of musical accompaniment.
I am also a Yogi; Certified in mindfulness.
I am also licensed zumba instructor whom encourages health and wellness through dance fitness.

From my very first session with Candace, she was able to home in on some of my bigger issues and name them. There didn't have to be a long getting to know me phase. I tend to be chatty, but she listens without interrupting my speech and then brings me back around to the topic or focuses on something particular I said that has relevance to our larger discussion. She also has given me a few tools/worksheets which I have already found helpful, even though our counseling relationship is so new. In short, I have confidence in Candace's commitment to my growth and already feel a partnership with her on this journey.
She is amazing. She listens, and listens, and listens. She offers her honest thoughts, looks objectively at the situation, and really seems to far. Thank you,
Candace is encouraging, supportive and real. Most importantly she makes me feel comfortable enough to be open and able to grow.
