Candace Walters

(MA, LPC, CADC-R)

About Me

Hi, my name is Candace Walters. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oregon. I graduated from Walla Walla University in 2012. I have worked extensively with the most critically ill children, families and adults in the community mental health setting, as well as serving as a clinical supervisor, training clinicians for several years.

I believe that trauma, as defined by the individual, can have an enormous impact on our lives- unknowingly shaping our thoughts, feelings and beliefs- leading to relationship struggles, difficulty with emotional reactivity, depression, anxiety, PTSD and fears of abandonment. It is important that each person I work with feel valued, heard and understood- to find hope and relief in the work we do together. Life can be painful and difficult. Clients tell me they appreciate my earnestness, sincerity and caring. They tell me they have found freedom through therapy from burdens they have carried for years- burdens of fears, shame, guilt, sadness, anger triggers, and hopelessness. I feel so grateful to have developed mastery in EMDR, including the newly developed "flash technique" touted as a cure for PTSD which has allowed me to help clients experiencing significant emotional and relational struggles find relief.
