About Me

I am a masters level mental health therapist/Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP), sole proprietor. I have earned 2 masters degrees; one in community and one in clinical counseling. I complete evaluations for diagnosis then treat clients accordingly. I have approximately 8 years experience in mental health therapy, many of which entail severe mental disorders such as: schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, reactive attachment disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, ADHD/ADD, and developmental disorders. I have experience in working with children as young as 4 up to adolescent/teen, adults, families, couples, and elderly clients.

Before starting my career in mental health therapy, I worked with clients at bachelors level, providing in-home services such as CTA (community treatment aid), FSW (family support work), and SVS (supervised visitation specialist). As a therapist, most of the time I use the CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) approach which challenges negative thinking of a person and helps to view certain situations more positively/differently in order to respond in a different way. Another type of therapy approach I may use is SFT (solution focused therapy) which entails focusing on future goals and finding solutions rather than focusing on current problems or issues from the past. This therapy can be brief, but not always. For example, only having 11-25 sessions total. Sometimes clients just want to talk and that is it, just to help sort things out and put their lives into perspective. For this type of therapy, I may challenge with questions and reflect what is said, but in a different fashion. I am pretty eclectic and flexible in terms of treating clients, meaning therapy can entail approaches that use a variety of methods that match the needs of the client, as I believe that one approach will not work for all clients.

I truly have a passion for helping others. I love making a difference in peoples' lives and feeling a sense of well-being and purpose. When listening to clients, I feel I am very empathetic and have a great understanding towards their situations. I want to help clients along their journey of change through therapy and make a difference in their lives. Let me make a difference in your life.
